How did she manage this? It’s certainly not something that was announced far and wide. It’s something that didn’t need to be publicized. Now it is. There’s something wrong with this picture in a big, big way. Who tipped her off? With gratitude for Raw Story:
Fox News London correspondent Alex Hogan was repositioned to Portsmouth, Virginia, just in time to cover an FBI raid on a Democratic politician who led redistricting efforts that could help her party take control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Fox News congressional correspondent Bill Melugin noted that Hogan was on the scene “where the FBI is raiding the office of Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore L. Louise Lucas, a Democrat and close ally of VA Governor Spanberger.”
Moments later, Hogan was live on Fox News to give a report to anchor Harris Faulkner. “State Senator Luis Lucas is at the center of a major FBI corruption investigation,” Faulkner announced. “Right now, in fact, agents are executing search warrants across the Commonwealth, including her office.”
Okay, who flubbed her name? Luis Lucas? *ahem* ok, small, but still! An investigation?? By Kra$h Patel’s FBI. Hmmm. I searched, trying to find out more, and came across nothing. Just the raid. And the Fox News reporter. Something smells here, and it isn’t you and me. Do the search warrants mean they take everything in her house and office? Can you imagine having someone pawing through your life? It’s different from what it was with Trump. All of his boxes were, more or less, in public view. Remember the bathroom? Okay, enough with the detour, moving on.
“So, the FBI here telling us today that these are court-authorized criminal search warrants that they are issuing and they’re going into the building behind me,” Hogan reported. “This is the office here in Portsmouth of state senator Louise Lucas. You can likely see some of the FBI agents behind me.”
“SWAT teams arrived with their weapons drawn, telling anyone in the building to come out of the building with their hands up,” she recalled. “We also saw at least three people being taken away, taken into custody. First, they were put in handcuffs, put on the ground, and then they were taken away.”
Hogan said that she was at the scene in time to speak to Lucas..
“I was able to speak with her. I asked her what her reaction was to all of this,” the reporter explained. “She told me she had no idea what they were doing here.”
“Alex, great job getting her right as this was going on,” Faulkner concluded.
What is so wrong with this picture! Something is not making sense. SWAT is seriously overkill for searching an office!!! Arrest people. Why? (Of course, you would have to have court authorization for a search warrant. Duh.) I apologize for being so disjointed, but this situation is very strange. FBI with search warrants, okay. Fox News reporter on scene at the perfect time, not ok. SWAT with weapons out, *really* not okay. How excessive can they be? Ms. Lucas worked on the Virginia districts’ redrawing (which a judge promptly shut down). So?
Fox News critics wondered how Hogan got the scoop on the FBI raid.
“Some pretty remarkable instincts by Fox News to have its London correspondent placed in Portsmouth, Virginia right in time for the FBI raid of Louise Lucas,” The Bulwark’s Sam Stein said in a social media post.
“How did Fox News get someone live on the scene of a raid in Portsmouth? Do you all have an office in Portsmouth?” journalist Tim Miller asked.
Correspondent Scott MacFarlane pointed out that the Department of Justice manual required “high-level approval” for any advanced notice of raids.
Someone leaked. It has to be. The timing is too perfect for the reporter to be there when she was. The FBI and SWAT were on scene. They arrested people, and we don’t know why. And Ms. Lucas had no idea why this was happening. We’ll have to wait and see if anything comes out. We can bet it’s going to be a barnburner.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Hahaha! Clearly the irony is lost on you. Same thing happened to Roger Stone & cnn was camped out there waiting for it to happen. This is a non story.
Oh come on Mark, The Roger Stone thing was broadcast live and loud to the public when they would be coming for him, FROM ROGER HIMSELF! This was completely different. It was broadcast to no one, and yet the woman from London was right there at the right time. Under any normal government this would be fishy as hell. But under this one, just par for the course. C’mon man, a whiskey company made Kash his own brand of whiskey!!!
I don’t see anyone making me my own brand of root beer.
And what do you mean irony? I don’t understand your implication. Please explain.
… and speaking of my own brand of root beer… Matt’s Brewery in Utica, NY, are you listening? Just a few cases of your Saranac Root Beer (the best I’ve tasted in 62 years of LOVING ROOT BEER!!!!) rebranded as “Bryan Root Beer, Cuvee Personelle”
C’mon, PLEASE ?????
