That’s something you don’t see every day, especially for the Proud Boys, and the same for the Oathkeepers. You’d never expect this from the founder of that group, either. But the Proud Boys’ leader did so with a vengeance. We don’t know whether to laugh or worry. It’s old but worth seeing. As always, thank you to Raw Story:
Gavin McInnes, the founder of the Proud Boys, came unglued on Tuesday during an off-the-rails interview on Piers Morgan’s YouTube show, “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”
McInnes was on a panel with right-wing provocateur Chris Rufo, ex-GOP lawmaker Joe Walsh, and liberal radio host Brian Shapiro, where they discussed the heated political rhetoric circulating since the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday.
The alleged shooter, Cole Allen, fired multiple rounds inside the hotel where the event was held, but was never in close vicinity of the president or any members of the cabinet who were in attendance, according to reports.
There have been some very interesting rumors floating around, but they are only rumors. The best one thought it was a staged. We will have to wait and see what comes out of the court case. The lawyers for the prosecution are walking a fine line right now. But, back to the panel.
One Secret Service agent was hit by a bullet in their bulletproof vest and survived. No one was killed during the shooting.
Morgan asked McInnes if he regretted using violent rhetoric in the past, and McInnes declined.
He argued that any violent rhetoric he used was in response to an attack from a left-wing group and was therefore justified.
Okay. Hold on a minute here. If there has been an attack from a ‘left-wing group’, why didn’t we hear about it? We all know that *would* be in the news. Therefore, his logic falls apart. No attack? No, lying. He’s trying to defend his rhetoric, and it’s coming apart at the seams. We can almost assume he loves his rhetoric. It goes right along with all the Proud Boys.
Shapiro challenged McInnes’ logic, which is when things got heated.
“Was that Antifa on January 6?” Shapiro asked sharply. “Was that Antifa on January 6, when 140 officers were beaten?”
“They were beaten for shooting at protesters!” McInnes erupted. “They were beaten for flashbangs. People were going ‘Stop inciting a riot, police!'”
“Your affirmative action police hires killed patriots that day!” McInnes continued.
That last one is interesting. There was one rioter who was killed. There was one police officer killed, until others took their own lives. ‘killed patriots that day’ is incorrect. They are not patriots, not even close. They are rioters. Period. It doesn’t matter what Trump says about patriots. They broke into the Capitol looking for certain people. Remember ‘hang Mike Pence’ and the image of the gallows outside? They would look to grab someone and kill them. That’s not patriots.
See you tomorrow!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
