We should worry. Going by this article, something is going on in his head, and this time it *truly* is disturbing. He’s going in a direction that we do not need, and certainly do not want. We may now know just how much of his mind has gone. And we have been put on notice. With respect to Raw Story:
A series of leaks that made it into the newspapers on Wednesday about how President Donald Trump talks about himself behind closed doors alarmed a pair of political analysts.
Nico Hines, host of “The Daily Beast Podcast,” discussed a new report from The Atlantic detailing how Trump considers himself among history’s greatest men, in the same ranks as figures like Alexander the Great or Julius Caesar.
Hines noted that Trump has spoken highly of himself in the past, but the remarks captured in the report, which cites “a senior administration official and a longtime Trump confidant,” show that his grandiose self-view has reached a new level.
Hooo boy. This is about the last thing we need. If he is equating himself to those leaders, there’s nothing that’s going to stop him from trying to be one. He’s nowhere near their level. That doesn’t matter much when Trump does something stupid again, like the Iran war. He’s abusing our allies, and they are pulling back. And now this?
“He’s been talking recently about how he is the most powerful person to ever live,” the confidant told The Atlantic.
“He wants to be remembered as the one who did things that other people couldn’t do, because of his sheer power and force of will.”
Hines described the quote as “terrifying” because each of the leaders mentioned had a history of going to war.
“We’ve now got a couple of years of Trump left, and what will he do next?” Hines said.
Well, hail. What *will* he do next? There’s no telling, so we can’t prepare for it. He’s gone into megalomania with delusions of grandeur. Will it be inside or outside of the US? Is he going to go after Greenland again? Or do something stupid in the Ukraine-Russia war? How do we even guess?
Trump’s private comments were revealed at a time when the administration is digging in its heels in the war in Iran.
Trump has privately told insiders to prepare for an “extended” blockade of Iran after recent negotiations with the Iranian regime fell apart.
The Iranians had offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for delaying discussions about the country’s nuclear arms capabilities.
Trump has said his objective in the war is to prevent Iran from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon.
Sarah Ewall-Wice, a political reporter at The Daily Beast, said the report suggested Trump is going to try to “superimpose himself” on American society and the rest of the world.
BOOM. There we go. Everything leads towards Trump and his mind, or lack thereof, that says something is brewing. He’s planning something, and we have no idea what it may be. It may be outside the country, but also remember, he wants to be the dictator of America. Maybe I’m crying wolf, but this has me truly worried. I will not get into the blockade.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
