Yep, Hegseth is off in his own little world where he has no failures, no matter what he’s been told. That may have triggered this stupid idea of firing people in the middle of a damn war. He looks vindictive, and not the head of the Pentagon. He’s paranoid, and so we are bleeding talent every day. This is a bad thing. But what he proposed today is mind-boggling. And stunning. And … let me show you this article, and you can choose your own words. Thanks, Raw Story:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth argued that his so-called Department of War should win the Nobel Peace Prize every year after initiating a military conflict in Iran that has caused death and destabilized the world’s oil supply.
Wut? In this article, it seems Petey Boy thinks he’s the master of the world. He thinks they deserve a Peace Prize for everything they’ve done that is hurting the entire *world*. Erm, Petey? Let me fact-check you on that because you’ve done quite the opposite of being given a Peace Prize. You started a never-ending war that has hurt the world in a major fashion. Everyone is struggling because of your damn stupid blockade. And here I go getting carried away again. *ahem*
During a press conference on Friday, TMZ asked Hegseth what he felt while carrying out “this extreme level of violence.” “Do you feel like you’re on a power trip?” the correspondent wondered. “It’s a very TMZ question,” Hegseth shot back.
“My only thought process is to ensure that our war fighters have everything they need to be successful, defeat and destroy the enemy, and they come home.” “Because war is violent,” he continued. “War requires doing difficult things.”
Heh. Such as not starting the war in the first place? That obviously would have been difficult because the US essentially woke up to finding out we were, and are, at war with Iran. We thought Trump might be up to something, but we had no warning about this. It *absolutely* did not work out for what Trump and Hegseth thought they could accomplish. As a matter of fact, it’s a failure. And as I have said ad nauseam, it’s hurting *everyone* with that effing blockade in place. Iran can easily wait us out. But if we left, that would mean we acknowledge we lost the war. Same with even opening up the blockade. Those Terrible Two-year-olds can’t admit what we all know is true. So, we’re stuck. We’re f*cked.
A second TMZ correspondent noted that Hegseth had insisted on calling the Department of Defense the Department of War despite a lack of congressional authorization. “Would you consider changing the name again to the Department of Peace since that’s what we’re all after?” the reporter wondered. “It’s a great question, actually,” Hegseth replied.
“You go from defense to war because you want to be proactive about peace through strength.” “In fact, I once did a video about the one institution that you win the Nobel Peace Prize every single year is the United States military,” he added, “because we are the guarantor of the safety and security not just of our country but of a lot of people in this world.”
You have got to be kidding me. Are we the guarantor of the world? Since when? Right now, we’re not even guaranteeing ourselves! What universe does he live in where we protect the world? And it just occurred to me that we had to pull ships and people from other places, which are now dangerously understaffed and under-equipped because everything’s tied up with what’s in the water, not letting any ships through. Plus, when do those ships get replenished? Hegseth is an idiot. He’ll be remembered as an idiot for this stupid, illegal, damn war. Why can’t they accept we’ve lost and at least work with Iran to open the Strait? This is also exhausting.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
