My, my, how the world changes in a single moment. It seems Megan Kelly is pissed at Trump and the GOP. She’s coming out and talking about Democrats after the latest (abysmal) polls of Thursday showing Donnie and the GOP are in trouble. Now, we all know that. But to have a far-right podcast come out and say the quiet part out loud, maybe some of the right (but not necessarily the far-right) will listen to her. What a surprise and what a gift to us! I appreciate Raw Story:
Conservative podcast host Megyn Kelly suggested that many voters would find Democrats to be the “better option” in the midterm elections because President Donald Trump had done little other than “make things worse.” On her Thursday broadcast, Kelly pointed to recent polls that showed support for Trump had “cratered.”
Huh. That’s surprising already. Pointing her audience to Democrats? Never thought we’d hear those words out of *her* mouth, only our people running for Congress. She’s actually looking at what has been obvious to us for a long time. Mark this date on your calendars, folks, because it probably won’t happen again.
“It’s like not even present tense anymore. It’s done,” she explained. “Just 23% approve of his overall performance. That ticks up to 30 when it comes to how he’s handled immigration.
And then from there, it is all downhill. 21% of Independents support this war on Iran. You’ve got 79% of independents who are against folks. You cannot win elections like that.”
“How many independents approve of Trump’s job performance when it comes to the cost of living? 12,” she continued.
“So, this pain is likely only to get worse. And this war [in Iran] needs to come to an end right away.” According to Kelly, Trump was not the only one facing voter dissatisfaction.
“The numbers are bad for the entire Republican Party,” she remarked. “For the first time since 2010, first time in 16 years, they’re favoring Democrats on the economy.”
Will the Republicans admit any of this? We have a few who are retiring who have noticed, but the ones who are coasting and thinking they’re going to win back their seats had better wake up. Trump’s poll numbers are rocketing downward every day. *He* certainly won’t admit anything is wrong, because in his world, he’s all-powerful and the country is doing just fine. Republicans at least seem to be aware of that. And if they aren’t, they’re in deep, deep trouble.
“They feel like they gave Trump a year and a half,” the host added. “He’s done nothing other than make things worse. This is how they feel if you read the polls. And so, and they’re p—d. They’re not feeling pro-GOP right now for a variety of reasons. They don’t tend to like the tariffs… They don’t like the war.
They don’t like what’s happening in their bank accounts.” “And they’re starting to think the Democrats might be the better option on the economy. 52% say they prefer Democrats compared to 48% who say they like the Republicans when it comes to who should manage the economy.”
Earlier this month, Kelly insisted that “Trump could drop a nuke” and she would still vote for him.
Now isn’t this article interesting after reading that closing line? It makes us wonder if that’s still true, with all she said in the article I’m using. She actually may not be so crazy about that if the polls keep diving down. We should make something out of her words. Those percentages are most certainly proof of how poorly Trump and his ‘administration’ are doing, or, rather, not doing. Just look at all he’s given to the gazillionaires, money we could have used for much better reasons. We need to keep our eyes and ears open for more dissent in the ranks. If they‘re arguing among themselves, that would be helpful, too. Keep an eye on those polls.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Any “independents” who give Drumpf ANY level of support are NOT truly “independent.” They’re Republicans who don’t want to admit to being Republicans.
