For Trump, that is. They really do need to take his phone away at night. This time it’s about one of his favorite subjects, our allies. He alternates between screaming at them and begging them. The man can’t make up his mind about anything these days, or so it seems, not even what to do with/about the war. What an idiot. Apologies for this being late coming out. Indebtedness to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump lashed out at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Friday after reports suggested his administration and Tehran have reached a deal to fully re-open the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that NATO allies had offered help, which he immediately rejected.
We can’t believe that. Why would they suddenly decide to offer help *now*? That doesn’t make any sense. They’re pretty much in the same position we are, waiting on the ship to get through the damn Strait and where they need to go. They‘re not going to want to help with the blockade. They want the Strait open!
“Now that the Hormuz Strait situation is over, I received a call from NATO asking if we would need some help,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “I TOLD THEM TO STAY AWAY, UNLESS THEY JUST WANT TO LOAD UP THEIR SHIPS WITH OIL. They were useless when needed, a Paper Tiger!
It still doesn’t make sense. What am I missing? 400-ish ships are waiting to come through and out, and others are waiting to go in. So, why would they send more ships? I would prefer to have proof other than Trump’s blathering and raging. I have yet to find any. If any of you folks have something, please let me know, because right now, I’m puzzled.
The Strait of Hormuz – a critical shipping waterway through which a fifth of the world’s oil trade flows – was opened Friday to all commercial ships for the remainder of the ongoing two-week ceasefire tentatively agreed to by Washington and Tehran. The Trump administration is reportedly considering unfreezing $20 billion in Iranian funds, a consideration that drew sharp criticism from critics.
It *should* be criticized. That’s a bad idea. Iran can close and open the Strait at any time they want. Unfreezing funds should be a last resort. For one thing, why should we give it back to them? They were frozen for a damn good reason and should stay that way. Unfreezing them puts Iran in an even bigger position of power. It will do the opposite of what the war was supposedly about. We don’t need to make more concessions even though we lost the war. There should be limits on what to “give up”. But the Strait is closed because of TRUMP and TRUMP ONLY. [insert expletives here.]
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Meanwhile, out in the real world, President Macron is hosting the leaders of Germany, Italy and the UK, plus other EU-aligned countries via video-call, to organise an international maritime coalition to assure freedom of navigation through the Straits of Hormuz, once a proper cease-fire has been established. Trumpland was not invited, because the proposed coalition would be comprised of “non-belligerent” nations.
Hey Trump, throwing sh!t (or ketchup) at the wall to see what sticks is not a winning strategy, it just requires wall cleaning. Whatta we gotta do to get rid of this submitch???
