This does not surprise any of us. The man is bonkers. He must be having the brainworm do the talking, because the things he’s doing are both dangerous and bizarre. He’s becoming stranger and stranger by the day. It’s always entertaining to see what inanity he’ll come up with next. Unfortunately, it’s usually something harmful. My gratitude to Raw Story:
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr got a tongue-lashing on Thursday during a House Ways and Means Committee hearing as Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) brought up his much-ridiculed HHS video using aging rocker Kid Rock to promote better health. According to the fuming Sanchez, who repeatedly had to speak over the Trump appointee, the controversial secretary has been wasting money while not doing his job, warning the public about serious health issues like the growing measles outbreak.
She nailed that one. He *isn’t* doing his job correctly. The MAHA thing tanked. It was a bunch of hooey in the first place, especially after he started the anti-vax thing again. (That still pisses me off because of the dangers to children.) He has no business being in that position, just as Oz has no business handling the Medicare family. He’s done nothing well. Gutting the CDC was a huge mistake. Replacing the board with his sycophants is a huge mistake. There is so much going on in the medical field, starting with a ferocious type of flu for the year. Or variants on Covid. We need the *correct* information on how to handle these and more.
Stating as a mother, she has been “horrified” by his stewardship, she added, “Stopping the spread of communicable diseases is one of HHS’s primary responsibilities. And a strong public messaging campaign on the importance of vaccines could have stopped this surge of measles cases, as it has in past outbreaks. I was appalled to learn the CDC suspended public-health messaging on vaccines last February. It ended a successful flu vaccine campaign as well.”
Appalled is an understatement. He didn’t push for measles vaccines when deaths could have been prevented. The new variant of the flu was knocking people down. What else has been going on that we *don’t* know about, and should? The CDC is extremely important, or it was, before he decimated it. No matter what he says, he *is* still an antivaxxer. And he is a poor public speaker. Has he actually *done* anything besides wrecking them? Unknown, but the answer is most likely destroying things, not helping them.
“You are making terrible decisions that impact real lives,” she accused. “One thing I find incredible is that you suspended this pro-vaccine messaging campaign, but somehow you are spending taxpayer dollars to drink milk shirtless in a hot tub with Kid Rock, and somehow you think that’s a better public health message than informing the public about the importance of vaccines?” She was then cut off by the committee chair.
She was probably cut off because she was asking the hard questions, the ones we *need* answered. Or, the chair didn’t want to make Trump angry *yawn*, which wouldn’t be surprising either. At least *someone* saw through RFK Jr’s façade. The question now is who will acknowledge the same things”?

He added, “My kids waited patiently in the car.”
