Yet another lie is collapsing beneath its own weight. He was wrong, and now he’ll have to fess up to it. All the “glorious” war news that he’s been spouting is definitely *not* glorious with this one. It really does seem that NO planning was done before they started. It’s getting ridiculous, if it’s not there yet. This is exhausting. Absolutely *exhausting*. The only good thing these days is that there’s a ceasefire in place, no matter how fragile it may be. We appreciate Raw Story:

One of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s main defenses of the U.S. decision to negotiate a controversial ceasefire with Iran is that its ballistic missile program has been “functionally destroyed.” But that claim has now been shot down by U.S. intelligence assessments, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

(Subscription needed for the WSJ article, but there is already enough information to have a general idea of the content.) It seems the missile program *wasn’t* destroyed. Good one. Iran will keep control of the Strait. They probably have enough to easily defend the coast (please no Kharg Island jaunt) and still be able to pop off munitions for other parts of the country, including shooting at our bases in other countries. We already know a bunch has been destroyed. Some have “only” been damaged. And we can already guess that the other nations in the Middle East are angry with us. By the way, how are we going to repair them?

“Iran still has thousands of ballistic missiles in its arsenal that it could use by retrieving launchers from underground storage areas, according to American officials familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments,” said the report. “The assessments come as the U.S. is working to cement a cease-fire that would fully open the Strait of Hormuz and also insulate Iran, American troops, and states in the region from further attacks. Some American officials said they are concerned that Iran will use the break in fighting to reconstitute some of its missile arsenal.”

Ouch. As I was saying. We can be almost completely sure that they *are* getting those missiles. That would be the smart thing, and they most assuredly *are* smart, no matter who in our government thinks they aren’t. Yes, there has been much coverage of this. Hegseth can’t keep himself out of the news, and he’s never there for something good. How long is it going to take before Petey Boy realizes this (if he does at all)? His “Secretary of War” nonsense is all a facade.

The conflict has taken a toll on Iran, with around half of its missile stockpile lost, the assessment found — but “it retains thousands of medium- and short-range ballistic missiles that could be pulled out of hiding or retrieved from underground sites”, said U.S. and Israeli officials. This comes as even a number of Republican and conservative analysts are crying foul about the terms of the ceasefire, which appear one-sidedly in favor of Iran.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump himself appears to have had a different understanding of the ceasefire’s terms than Iran, as he accused the country of violating the terms on Thursday. And the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20 percent of the world’s oil traffic is shipped, remains heavily blocked by the conflict.

How many past presidents and chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are spinning in their graves about this? How many still living would like to “smack” some sense into Trump and Hegseth? They won’t quit talking, boasting, and bragging, yapping about how well we did when the complete opposite is true. We can’t even get the Strait of Hormuz reopened. How much else will we NOT be able to do?

See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
