Petey Boy is nearly up to Elon’s level of stupid things to write about. I needed cheering up, so I’m “discussing” him first. It’s time to come up with a slang phrase for the columns where people didn’t think before doing something. There’s “look before you leap,” but sure, I (we?) can come up with something funnier and better than that. Today’s news is about a video that should have stayed in the files, not been used out in the light. Yes, Petey Boy did him a dumb. My compliments to Raw Story:
Amid the ongoing Iran war, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared a video on social media Friday of a U.S. servicemember urging fellow servicemembers to be “combat ready” and ready for deployment, but over the weekend, the post soon backfired after critics pointed out it was five years old and featured a retired Marine who had been relieved of duty amid controversy. “This video is 5 years old, and the guy in it was caught breaking into someone’s home,” Erfan wrote to his more than 57,000 followers on X.
OOOOOPS. It seems he didn’t do any research before using the video. It’s certainly the wrong one to use to psych up our servicemembers. The guy is not a good example of this. Is there no one who can do any research before Petey Boy gets a wild hair (have you noticed he’s going gray?) and publicizes something that’s not going to do any good?
The video shared by Hegseth features Christian Bull, a former U.S. Marine Corps sergeant major who enlisted in 1998. A former drill instructor in San Diego, California, Bull was relieved from duty due to “loss of confidence in his ability to lead” after being captured on video rummaging through a subordinate Marine’s home. Bull was reportedly conducting a wellness check on his subordinate, Juan Gamez-Alzate, after he had not shown up for duty. However, Gamez-Alzate’s absence was due to an arrest over a traffic violation, which he claimed he had informed his sergeant major of.
See, that was a stupid move on the part of Bull. A wellness check does not mean pawing through someone else’s belongings. He was caught on video. Stupid is as stupid does, not to think to look for cameras. It seems that Gamez-Alzate had the right idea when he put them in. It’s embarrassing when your senior officer gets busted for a major error. So, if Bull is working now, what else is he screwing up for the company that employs him?
“The Marine Corps aircraft group was notified that I was under custody, so why is [Bull] doing a welfare check when he knows that I’m in custody?” Gamez-Alzate said, the military digital media outlet Task & Purpose reported. Hegseth, having shared the video without context, however, led to an onslaught of ridicule from critics of all stripes. //// “Too much alcohol has rotted your brain,” wrote Setareh Sadeqi, an Iranian professor and political commentator, in a social media post on X. //// “You’re a drunkard buffoon,” wrote author and activist Amy Siskind to their more than 446,000 followers on X. //// “I knew this guy looked familiar,” wrote Ken Klippenstein.
One would think that, as many times as Petey Boy has screwed up or been caught doing something, he would be a little more cautious. But that’s ego for you. He’s the secretary, so of course he knows best *choke*. It makes me wonder what sort of crap he’s pulling with our servicemembers over in Iran. He knows nothing about tactics, supplies, all of that, but he *thinks* he does, so he makes things worse. How much damage is he doing to our Armed Forces, starting all the way back with that senseless call into Quantico, where he snorted and pawed and then flounced around like a bantam rooster that really just embarrassed himself? Let’s hope we can rebuild when he’s gone. What a waste. Of damn near everything.
