This is what Trump’s big mouth got him this week. Europe is sending troops to Greenland from France, Germany, the UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands to show solidarity in supporting Greenland. Stephen Miller previously said that nobody is going to defend Greenland militarily. Wanna bet on that? Greenlanders are a quiet, pacific people but that doesn’t mean that they’re doormats.

This is what Trump gets for shooting his mouth off this past week. The only story which is possibly worse is the one about Iran. Trump tweeted weeks ago that the U.S. would protect protestors — and then 12,000 of them got killed. CNN:
Denmark, which is responsible for Greenland’s defense, has warned an attack on Greenland would all but end NATO, and announced on Wednesday that it was expanding its military presence “in close cooperation with NATO allies.”
Canada and France have also said they plan to open consulates in Nuuk, Greenland’s capital, in the coming weeks.
French President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday that a French military team was “already on the ground” and would be reinforced in the coming days with “air, sea and land components.” Finland’s defense ministry confirmed it would send two military liaison officers to the territory.
It is not unusual for NATO countries to send troops to train in other NATO countries, and there has been a years-long push by allies, including the US, to ramp up joint exercises in the Arctic Circle. The US has about 150 troops stationed at its Pituffik Space Base in northwestern Greenland.
But both the timing and symbolism of the latest announcements by European nations are a significant show of solidarity at a time of unprecedented tension within NATO.
It looks like Trump’s bluff has been called. Let’s see what he does with either this or the crisis in Iran. My guess is nada.
It’s his go to weapon of choice so I predict higher tariffs on any country that supports Greenland in 5, 4, 3,….
