Some Hard Truths and Good News As We Enter 2026

We got a hard lesson recently in how journalism has changed in this country. “Journalism is suppose to afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted,” is an old homily, as is Mark Twain’s “journalism is publishing something somebody doesn’t want published. The rest is public relations.” If journalism is speaking truth to power, the suppression by CBS of the CECOT story was power speaking back to journalism and telling it — at least mainstream media — “you don’t have any power anymore. Trump and his cronies have all the power.”

You’re familiar by now with the spiking of the 60 Minutes story of the brutal conditions in the CECOT prison, done by CBS head Bari Weiss, because the story made Donald Trump uncomfortable and we can’t have that. This has been a sobering chapter in America, one of many we endured in 2025 and according to Steve Schmidt, one of many episodes that we’ve seen or are about to see. You might want to check out his list and see if you think he’s wrong.

The story was killed because it was bad for Trump.

The Charlie Kirk memorial service in Phoenix was a fascist rally where Stephen Miller threatened millions of Americans in the language of the Nazi propaganda minister. It was a hatefest. It was also the opening act to the most disgusting grift of the entire Trump era, which is the abomination of Erika Kirk costumed from head to toe in the attire of a Vegas lounge singer tossing merchandise to a crowd of disordered children, while standing in a replica of the tent in which her husband and father of her two children was blown away.

His family and associates have engaged in millions of dollars worth of graft, fraud and corruption. His sons, Uday and Qusay, and the daughter he has repeatedly sexualized, have made hundreds of millions of dollars illegitimately and illegally over 2025.

Donald Trump has stopped zero wars, but is on the verge of starting one in South America.

2026 will be worse than 2025 in America.

As things get worse and more dangerous in America Bari Weiss will be up on that wall making sure that you are as misinformed as possible in the service of Donald Trump’s friends, who need his friendship.

Bari Weiss is a propagandist and a bought and paid for red pen censor, who manages the boy’s social standing.

The one truth that I will disagree with is that 2026 will be worse than 2025 because I see 2026 as 2018 on steroids. We will have a chance to stonewall the ailing old man in the White House and his group of toxic aides. Take great cheer in the over performance of Democrats in special and off year elections. That is the signpost up ahead, as Rod Serling put it, leading us out of Trump’s Twilight Zone and back to democracy.

We must make this happen.
