What terrific news to find when I’m late starting. *ahem* This is wonderful! We need to high-five everyone possible because, yes, we did it again! Now, this is going to be short and sweet because there’s not much to the article, but it still needs to be passed on. Thanks to Raw Story:

Democrats continued their string of special election victories on Tuesday with a blowout win in a Kentucky state senate district that former Vice President Kamala Harris only carried by 5 points in 2024, according to calls by Decision Desk and the Louisville Courier Journal. Kentucky Senate District 37, which consists of the neighborhoods of Louisville just west of the airport, has been vacant ever since Democratic Sen. David Yates was appointed clerk of Jefferson County. Republicans were hoping to be competitive in the race after the narrow margins in the presidential election.

Now you are seeing the precursor to the real news. These numbers are going to BURN Republicans for quite some time. Anything that is a blow against them, anything that staggers them, anything that blindsides them is good, even great, for us. We are gleefully watching their confusion and consternation. They thought it would be easy. Well, the people have spoken, and the blue wave continues to rise. Are you ready for this?

But the district was more Democratic in downballot races, Yates having carried the seat by 21 points. And on Tuesday evening, Democratic candidate Gary Clemons clinched a landslide victory against Republican Calvin Leach. As of 7:30 p.m., Clemons was up by a margin of 72.6% to Leach’s 25.1%. As President Donald Trump has seen his popularity falling and voters’ opinion on the economy continues to sour, Democrats have racked up a number of overperformance victories around the country, including the November elections in Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. They followed up with an unusually close contest in a heavily Republican, gerrymandered congressional special election in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hey Republicans? Look at this blowout! 72.6 to 25.1. If you are up for re-election and hadn’t been worried before, you should be now. The distance between Republicans and Democrats is widening. It’s growing. Y’know, this is some of the best news I’ve seen in a long, long time. After supporting Kamala, and not waking up to Madame President, well, the Democrats have healed our wounds, and we are BACK. Let’s keep it up!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money, especially around the holidays. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
