Well, this is entertaining. How fast can you backpedal is the question. This was also a bit unexpected. Someone has spoken out about “The Emails”, and they are not what everyone was thinking they were. Supposedly. But that they felt there was a need to make a statement makes us wonder what the actual truth is. Who is he protecting? From Raw Story:
Mark Epstein, Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, issued a statement Saturday addressing the uproar sparked by the release of a 2018 email exchange in which he appeared to suggest that President Donald Trump had engaged in sexual acts with someone identified only as “Bubba,” according to a Business Insider reporter. Sent in March of 2018, the email in question saw Mark Epstein email his brother Jeffrey Epstein to inquire about whether Russian President Vladimir Putin had “the photos of Trump —-ing Bubba,” using a slang word for oral sex. It was released last Wednesday by the House Oversight Committee, which dropped 20,000 pages of documents it had subpoenaed from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate.
Now isn’t this interesting? Mark felt a need to come out and make a statement on his part of the emails released to the House Oversight Committee. We can’t be sure it was a need. It seems that it’s more of “under pressure”. He hasn’t done *that* much to protect his brother, so is he protecting Trump? (This is why we could consider it to be under pressure.) Right now, Trump has a lot of power and the ability to make someone’s life miserable in so many ways, even if he’s running scared.
On Saturday evening, Epstein quashed that theory in a statement, according to Jacob Shamsian, legal correspondent for Business Insider. “For the avoidance of doubt, the reference to ‘Bubba’ in this correspondence is not, in any way, a reference to former President Bill Clinton,” Mark Epstein said in an apparent statement, shared by Shamsian on social media late Saturday. “Any attempt to conflate that reference with President Clinton, or to read sweeping implications onto them, misrepresents both the purpose and the tone of the original correspondence. I want to be absolutely clear on this point so that the public record is not distorted and so that speculation does not unfairly implicate people who are not actually being referenced in those communications.”
Hmmm. Well, he’s protecting Clinton. That man never deserved to be yanked into this sordid tale. Yes, he and Trump were great buddies who golfed together a lot. No, the implication of former President Clinton’s participation was absolutely wrong. At least we have that much to hang onto. Clinton did not deserve this. But it leaves the question of Trump hanging out there in the wind. That’s something to think about.
Mark Epstein went on to dismiss his 2018 comments as “simply part of a humorous private exchange between two brothers” that was “never meant for public release,” though ultimately did not clarify who “Bubba” referred to. Mark Epstein is among the voices who called into question the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death, who supposedly died by suicide in 2019 in prison while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges. Mark Epstein had hired a forensic pathologist to conduct an independent autopsy on his late brother, the findings of which concluded that his death was more consistent with homicide than suicide.
That’s always been a question. There are too many things about the “suicide” that do not make any sense. There are those of us who are sure it was homicide. We’ll never know for certain. But now, we have proof that Clinton wasn’t involved in the emails and sordid stories. Well, there are those of us who consider it to be proof. But Trump? This is another waiting game until more comes out from the files. And it will. We can be assured of that.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

What’s even more interesting is that Drumpf has SUDDENLY reversed himself and is now all in favor of releasing the files.
As I noted in a comment responding to the article, this probably means Bondi told Drumpf that his name had finally been scrubbed from the files. My reasoning could just be conspiracy theory but, then again, when it comes to Drumpf, there’s no such thing as a conspiracy theory–if it’s about Drumpf, then it’s probably a fact that will eventually come out (but only when it’s too late to do anything about it).
Yes, that made me spit out my coffee. It was certainly about scrubbing them and wasting a whole lot of agent’s time where they could have been doing other, much more important things. The same applies to the waste of agent’s for Kash’s girlfriend. There is very rarely that anything to do with Drumpf is an *actual* conspiracy theory. If it seems like it’s something he’s do, then it’s a valid theory. But WTF with the reversal??!!!!!
i always maintained thst all the delaying was just to buy time to clean the material. dems need to make sure the petition to release the files specifies the complete and unredacted material.
I agree. It always was. Of course, the more he tap-danced around the subject, the more we knew he had to be in them.
