He just doesn’t learn. Panic, yes, learn, no. Trump is flailing about the Epstein documents. He’s getting really desperate and trying to deflect any possible way he can think of, no matter how inane. So, he did the next logical thing for him – told Pam Blondi to go after all sorts of Democrats and donors. Well, at least one person has made it clear he doesn’t give a damn about what Trump is saying. He buried him with clear, concise thinking and speaking. From Raw Story one more time:

One of the people Trump explicitly mentioned is now firing back. In a series of posts to his official X account, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman — a prominent Democratic donor with a net worth of roughly $2.5 billion — responded to Trump’s call to investigate him with a demand to “release all of the Epstein files,” saying “every person and every document” should be known to the public. “I want this complete release because it will bring justice to the victims,” Hoffman wrote. In a subsequent post, he wrote that releasing the full files would also prove his innocence.

Well, okay then! Trump doesn’t have a leg to stand on anymore because Mr. Hoffman turned it right back on him. Release the files, you ass. He was more polite than that, but the sentiment holds. Go ahead. Investigate him. But Trump will have to release the files first. Mr. Hoffman’s not going to take anything for granted, and we know how well Trump and Bondi do at slanting things for their court cases. Look at the James Comey and Letitia James cases imploding in Virginia. Halligan definitely didn’t think things through. Why no, not tired of those yet. But, back on topic:

“I want this complete release because it will show that the calls for baseless investigations of me are nothing more than political persecution and slander,” Hoffman tweeted. “I was never a client of Epstein’s and never had any engagement with him other than fundraising for MIT.” The Democratic donor went on to argue that Trump’s push to investigate him was “an obvious ploy to avoid releasing the files.” He pushed for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to “simply release all the files, and expose the people who had both deep and ongoing relationships with Epstein.”

There’s strike two against Trump. Release the files and let the chips fall where they may. He isn’t concerned. Since we already know Trump *is*, he’s being hoisted by his own words. He’s being called out. Trump won’t like that. He’ll go on the attack, like usual, and we’ll yawn and laugh, like usual.

“I will do everything in my power going forward to advocate for the release of the files, to get justice for Epstein’s victims and to promote the values of truth our great country was founded on,” he added. Hoffman concluded the thread by writing: “I refuse to bend the knee to Donald Trump and his slanderous lies.” In addition to Hoffman, Trump demanded the DOJ investigate former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary and Harvard University President Larry Summers and J.P. Morgan Chase bank.

“This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his “Island.” Stay tuned!!!”

Good grief. It’s surprising that his memory goes back that far. Well, he’s ranted about the Russia thing for so long that it might have stayed put in one of the few cells in his brain. So if that was a scam, why does he say this is another scam? Trapped himself with that one, too. And what the hell is it with the quotes on Island? We all know Epstein had one. That’s been known for a *very* long time. So why the quotes? Defensive? Hmmm. Mr. Hoffman has no fear about the release of the files. They’re not a concern. So, Blondi? Trump? Go ahead. Bring it.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. one possible problem. by ordering bondi to launch an investigation (gee, i thought there was one already on-going) the doj could refuse to release the material since it is part of an on-going investigation. that’s standard practice. i doubt trump has the brains to have thought of that but bondi and others may.

    • Well, damn, good point. I could actually see Blondi coming up with that, much as I like to step down on her. She was the Florida AG, after all. So she has some experience. We’ll have to be very lucky for no one to consider that. But on the other hand, she hasn’t done much that was smart over the past 8 months, if I’m thinking correctly. Lindsey Halligan and Alina Habba Dabba Doo were not smart, even if Trump picked them. Oh, let me not rant about Bove getting a lifetime judge appointment either. Oof. *grumble*
