It’s yet another first, but then again, it’s a day ending in a y and we are still in the Era of Trump. So anything is possible. If you’re cleaning one of your upstairs windows and you get bumped by a flying pig, take it in stride. Just tell yourself, “it’s a day ending in y and Trump is still in office.” All things make sense when that is your mantra. The latest is that Melania Trump has filed a lawsuit against Hunter Biden demanding damages of $1,000,000,000, (One Billion Dollars.) Does Biden have one billion dollars? Dunno, but I don’t think Melania can prevail against him for that amount of money or any amount of money.

The issue, if you haven’t already guessed, is that Hunter mentioned during a recent interview the connection between the Trumps and Jeffrey Epstein. It’s been heard that Melania and Donald Trump were introduced by Epstein because journalist and author Michael Wolff has said so. This allegation makes Melania batshit angry. Why is anybody’s guess. Here are some details of what the ruckus is about. (The YouTube version of this has been deleted. YouTube is trying to duck the excrement flying out of the Trump family fan right now. You can’t blame them. But Jack Dorsey still has it up on Bluesky, at least for now.)

If you’re a frequent reader of this blog you know that we have been over all this already with a fine tooth comb. No, nobody, including Hunter Biden, is contending that there was an exact day and hour when Epstein took Donald by the hand and introduced him to Melania or vice versa. The allegations are:

  1. Michael Wolff says that Donald and Melania were introduced by Epstein. Maybe he should make it clear where he gets this information. Or Melania should sue him for a billion bucks.
  2. Epstein, Donald, Melania, Ghislaine Maxwell and Paolo Zampoli (Melania’s modeling agent) all knew one another.
  3. It’s undisputed that all these people knew one another. Zampoli served on the board of one of Ghislaine Maxwell’s non profit organizations, an environmental group, the TerraMar Project. So clearly he knew Maxwell and if he knew Maxwell, then he almost certainly knew her boyfriend. Is that so far fetched?
  4. We know we have seen photos of the Trumps with Epstein and Maxwell.

So what is Melania’s beef? I would love to read the freaking lawsuit against Hunter Biden and if and when I find it, I’ll share excerpts here. She seems hell bent to distance herself from Epstein. That makes sense. But does she think anybody really cares whether Paolo Zampoli personally made the introduction between her and Donald Trump, or if Zampoli was at one of Epstein’s parties and Epstein was introducing people who hadn’t met before — and that included Donald and Melania? Seriously, what is the big deal here?

In a perfect world, what does Melania want us to believe? That it’s somehow wrong for Epstein to have introduced her to Donald, but it’s perfectly great that after they were introduced that they socialized with Epstein and Maxwell and were photographed doing so?

I’m missing the point here. And as a rule of thumb, in a massive lawsuit (which one billion dollars in “damages” is) there had better be a massive transgression to justify that level of damages. Otherwise is a frivolous harassment suit and the court will throw it out.

The worst thing Hunter Biden is “guilty” of (and therefore civilly liable for, theoretically at least) is repeating hearsay. But he even SAYS that, that he “heard” that Michael Wolff said, that Epstein introduced Donald and Melania. He’s admitting to hearing a third party say that which Melania finds so egregious.

Hunter is right about one thing, however: this will go to deposition and then both Donald and Melania can be deposed. Ghislaine Maxwell or other parties present at the time, may also be deposed.

I cannot follow the logic of this, if there is any. Melania’s lawyers are nuts to do this. This is clear bullying. And if you’re wondering if this violates the blanket pardon that Joe Biden gave Hunter before he left office, I would tend to think so. The pardon stated that Trump could not come after Hunter for whatever trumped up transgressions and I’m pretty certain that that edict will apply to Trump’s wife as well. Maybe not. Maybe because this is a personal issue between Melania and Hunter Biden that it will not be covered by the blanket pardon but I wouldn’t want to be the person having to argue that point of view.

Melania is stupid to do this. Maybe MAGA will be impressed, but the way this plays out to anybody sane, and certainly people in other countries, is that she’s using a bazooka to go after a mosquito. Hunter Biden repeated hearsay. That is not the same as maliciously publishing false content about somebody with a reckless disregard for the truth. Melania looks like a real asshole for doing this.

But if that’s the face she wants to present to the world, if that’s the lesson she wants to teach her son, be a bully, then so be it. Didn’t she used to have some gig going that was just the opposite of this? Oh yeah, #BeBest, wasn’t it? Yes, let’s hear Melania explain how this lawsuit follows the precepts of the #BeBest campaign. Speak of that, Melania, that do I long to hear.

  1. If people could be sued for “hearsay,” then Drumpf would be in court from now till doomsday fending off lawsuits because there’s very little he does that is NOT the result of “hearsay.” (Well, if it’s not “hearsay,” then it’s just his syphilitic brain making up s#!t for the hell of it. But, last time I checked, not even the First Amendment protects speakers or writers from being sued for deliberately impugning people’s lives and reputations because of their BS. Wanna make money from telling lies? Write fiction–that’s protected as long as the fiction is not merely a thinly-veiled hatchet job.)

    • I think Melania is making a terrible mistake here. She’s making herself look vicious by going after Hunter. If she doesn’t have enough brains to see that, then her lawyers certainly should. They’ve got to know that this is a terrible idea. So I don’t know what their “logic” is, as stated.

    • This is totally the Streisand effect. If Melania would just shut up about it, that would be in her best interest. I would love to know why this incenses her so much, the idea that Epstein introduced them. If he didn’t, he didn’t. She could just issue a simple statement saying: “When I went to the Kit Kat club that night, my modeling agent, Paolo, was there. He introduced me to Donald.” End of story. But going after the Daily Beast and Hunter Biden and God knows who all only makes people wonder what the big deal is.

And if Epstein DID introduce them, so what? Everybody knows Epstein and Donald partied. Supposedly Epstein was Donald’s “best friend.” What is she trying to hide, is my question?

  2. Hunter Biden repeated a well-known piece of information put out by Michael Wolfe. Wolfe was given almost unfettered access to have on the record access to the people involved and if I’m not mistaken in addition to taking notes he sometimes recorded conversations. Since Hunter clearly cited Wolfe claim, Wolf had so much access and so much of what he’s written has been borne out Melania has no case. It’s destined to be thrown out but given it opens the door to Biden’s attorney Abbe Lowell (a pretty damned good DC lawyer – who at one time represented Jarvanka I might add) to start deposing people. I’d be willing to bet the first on his list will be Maxwell and he won’t be shy about announcing it!

Think about that. It could throw quite the wrinkle in whatever Maxwell has been cooking up with Todd Blanche (who before he got a top slot at DOJ was Trump’s lead lawyer in one of the cases Trump lost in NYC) and the legal fight to keep him from getting to depose Maxwell will be epic. Efforts to block it will be like a fire hose of gasoline on the cover-up fire. Melania can either make it all moot by dropping her lawsuit or deal with THAT. Which means Trumpty has to as well. But there’s more. Suppose Lowell deposes Maxwell – there will be an even bigger fight about him releasing portions of the transcript, or even saying anything at all publicly beyond “Ms. Maxwell has been deposed.” Lowell is too good a lawyer to have that kind of muzzle placed on him.

The point is that both Donald and Ghislaine (Ghoulaine?) don’t want any of this going on. In the end (probably soon) “Melanie” who’s last name is after all Trump (for now) will give us another reason to pull out our TACO jokes. I can see the memes now, with some awkward as hell moment of the two of them on a TACO!

Seriously though there were rumors of Melania doing some high-end “escort” work way back, which I gather is not uncommon for second rate models in NYC and probably LA. Other big cities too. While the Epstein-Maxwell operation specialized in underage teens his places WERE wired for video and sound and he collected a lot of damaging stuff on a lot of very rich and/or powerful people. It’s not a stretch to say given his credential (or rather lack thereof) the mystery of how he got so rich isn’t mysterious at all.

Not all the guys he had at his parties who headed into bedrooms for trysts were into underage teens like him. They just wanted a nice looking piece of ass and models, even if their work is limited to lower level stuff qualifies. It’s easy to imagine them needing cash between infrequent gigs agreeing to “party” with some rich guys. Hell, in addition to making some cash if they ‘performed” well enough they might charm some dumbass rich dude into making them a trophy wife! Melania playing THAT game is a quite credible theory.

I think she fears Wolfe might have plausibe “receipts” given the access he had and she’s desperate to keep it bottled up. It could be the last person she wants to sue is Wolfe who as you say makes the most sense if she’s actually been defamed.

    • Melania got a large settlement from the Daily Mail back in the day over the alleged “escort” work. It makes sense she wouldn’t want to be seen as an escort/prostitute. I get it. But who cares if Epstein introduced them? Why is that a big deal? As I said, all she needs to do is issue a statement, “Donald and I were introduced by Paolo Zampoli (or Mickey Mouse or whomever) the night of bla bla when we were at the Kit Kat club.” End of story. She is the one making a mountain out of a molehill, not Hunter Biden or anybody else.

  3. There’s always the real possibility hubby put her up to it…as an invertebrate, such as a squid, does to cover its ass, as it runs back into its hole in Florida.
