Trump doesn’t want a free press, he wants a North Korea-level propaganda network that brays nonstop about what a wonderful job the fearless leader has been doing. The fact that the press not only in this country but around the world is talking about the reality of the situation, that the 900 pounds of uranium is unaccounted for, that trucks were seen leaving Frodow and the other facilities, and that Iran now says that they are continuing their nuclear enrichment program “without interruption” is devastating to Trump.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way. In his *mind* he was going to play tough guy and Iran would be compromised and he would get a Nobel Peace Prize. I guess that’s so important to him because Obama’s got one, not for any other reason.
And the regime change crack, and Make Iran Great Again, didn’t go over well. That’s not going to happen minus a full-scale war and occupation. Anybody with a clue about geopolitics knows that — which of course means that Trump doesn’t. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is not a group that will be brushed aside like they were nothing. Only a lunatic talks this way, and Iran is not amused. This hand was badly played by Trump. We will come to rue it. He won’t, he’s too insulated from harm, but at some point the return punch will come and we don’t know what American tourists will be spirited away, American diplomats, the list of possibilities is endless.
This is what happens when you have an idiot in power and the idiot goes pulling a lion’s tail, because he can. The lion will strike and lash back. On that you may depend. But somebody innocent will get hurt. And Trump won’t feel a shred of remorse because he utterly lacks empathy. He doesn’t care what happens to other people. He’s too focused on himself. We’ve never had anybody this blatantly damaged in the White House before.

According to CBS, which received a leaked copy of the preliminary damage assessment, the entrances to the facility collapsed but the enrichment plant deep underground was not heavily damaged. Three days before the strike satellite images showed trucks moving material thought to be enriched uranium out of the site, and bulldozers filling the entrances with soil. This would have cushioned the structure from bomb blasts and also supported the rock to prevent collapse.
The enrichment program won’t be resuming without interruption, but if Iran moved some of all of the enriched uranium to another underground facility, they could begin the final step in enrichment to make weapons-grade U-235, which would then have to be processed into a form that could be used in a weapon. That could take several months or even years.

Of course the Iranians prepared the nuclear sites for what they knew was coming, because they’d been told. I’m surprised the Israelis, who are way smarter than the current American govt, didn’t send in air to take out those trucks, but perhaps blowing up enriched uranium isn’t such a great idea?
