It’s getting nutty. Headlines were very much like these back in the days of the Bay of Pigs. I was a small child, but I remember seeing the headlines on the newspapers on the kitchen table and hearing the adults talk in worried tones. And then later on I read about the history of the situation and understood it at greater depth. At that point in our history we had a WWII hero as president. Now we have a game show host.

The Hindustan Times is verifying this report is being discussed by social media and news media, although they say they can’t verify the photographs. Google is also saying that social media posts and media outlets are discussing this matter, but there has been no official, governmental verification. So don’t take this as carved in stone, take it as not debunked yet and very possible. There’s also talk of a nuclear facility which has just been found.

I don’t know how the *evaculation* of Tehran is doing, considering it’s a city of eight million people. Not sure where they’re all going to go or how. People started leaving over the weekend and it was gridlock traffic then. And into this awfulness, this moron opens his mouth.

The “most respected man in the Middle East.” Righto. Jot that one down. I have a feeling that this is one of those videos/tweets that is not going to age well. And here’s another one. God forbid I should link to Infowars but it is an intriguing concept, MAGA splitting in two and Trump’s presidency collapsing.

Meanwhile, WWIII is trending. Simply, there is this facility at Fordo, in Iran. The United States has aircraft that can take out the facility. If Trump decides to do that, then we will be at war with Iran. Yes, only Congress can declare war. But since Trump controls both chambers that’s more of a formality than anything else. And right now we are at war with Iran via the proxy of Israel, to all intents and purposes.

We could be at war with iran tomorrow morning. Or it could be the beginning of WWIII. Or, this could be another Iraq and at the moment I think that’s the most likely possibility.

Oh and by the by, this is Donald’s ten year anniversary. Ten years ago today, June 16, 2015, he came down the escalator of Trump Tower and this populist shitshow began. Maybe he will blow up the world. I choose to think not for the moment, but I confess to being a cynic and I don’t rule out the possibility.

Also, it’s being pointed out on social media that Trump is telegraphing all his moves to Iran, namely leaving G7 early, convening the NSC in the Situation Room tonight, telling Tehran to evacuate, for a reason. This is being construed as Trump’s “peace through strength” and “doing the weave.”

So you can decide what you think is more likely, Trump’s doing the weave saving us or Marco Rubio convincing Trump to stand down so that we don’t get into another Iraq. Without more information, that appears to be the state of play.
