This screw up is, as Donald Trump would say, a real beauty. This is one for the record books. Trump addressed a pool of reporters today and of course he turned it into a gripe session, complaining about Joe Biden. But he didn’t stop there. He also complained about Justin Trudeau. That would be tasteless in any event, but what made it tasteless and comical, both, is that Trump revilved Trudeau for doing something that the man simply did not do. And could not have done, if he wanted to, because he wasn’t in office.
Trump is in Canada today for the G7 Summit complaining about Justin Trudeau leading an effort to kick Russia out of the G8. He says Putin is very upset about it and he doesn’t blame him. pic.twitter.com/4vfWYqIpD6

Stephen Harper was Canada's prime minister in 2014, serving from 2006 to 2015. Russia was expelled from the G8 in March 2014 due to its annexation of Crimea, a decision made collectively by the G7 under Harper's leadership, not Justin Trudeau's, who became prime minister in 2015.…

The tweet ends, “Trudeau has since opposed Russia’s return to the G7, citing ongoing violations of international law.” In all events, you see what an abject moron Trump looks like, not to mention a boor.
Carney knows by letting Trump rewrite history publicly just how stupid it makes Trump look. Only MAGA watches this and thinks Trump’s brilliant. Carney is letting Trump embarrass himself on the global stage. He’s smart to just let him talk…🤣🤣🤣

Still and all it would have been comical for Carney to have corrected Trump and then watch Trump waffle and stammer and try to justify the fact that he just put his foot in his mouth.

This is the face we present to the world, ladies and gentlemen. This is what America looks like in the year 2025. And expect it to get worse. Trump doesn’t want to talk about Iran because he’s got no real answers, only his usual veiled, stupid threats on social media.
He can always easily do great deals that never seem to happen. Maybe in two weeks. pic.twitter.com/GvsWhMAvj6

Nice to know it’s so “easily” done. We’re waiting. The world is waiting. It’s optimistic to think that this conflagration might stay at the level of conventional warfare. It might not. Don’t forget, Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon and Mike Flynn were selling nuclear start up kits to the Saudis back in 2017. Not to be a fearmonger, but let’s just say that things in our government have been out of control for a while. We had a four-year intermission with Biden, thank God, but who knows how long Trump will take, in the condition he’s in, to put us into a situation which is truly horrific?
I hope I’m wrong. I want to be wrong.

I agree it would have been fun to watch Carney humiliate Trump with the cameras rolling. On the other hand I agree it was probably a swiftly made tactical decision. To wait. Until when you ask? Once the whole group was gathered to actually start dealing with the agenda and Trumpty tried to take over Carney would be able to shut him up easily by saying something like ‘Before I forget Donald you made an ass out of yourself earlier in front of the cameras. Trudeau had nothing to do with the fact your pal Putin isn’t here because HE wasn’t Prime Minister when Russia was rightly kicked out of this group. Perhaps you should just sit there, and when it comes to the U.S. we can rely on advice we’ve gotten from people who still work for your government who know their business. People you haven’t yet fired because they know stuff and are competent.’
I could actually see something like that, although not as perhaps as pointed and detailed taking place. Not just take the wind out of Trump’s sails at the outset but just shred the damned sails to tatters. If Trumpty wants to go stomping off in a huff, to leave early he’s done it before. It might actually make for a more productive meeting!
