If you hear an echo after reading Trump’s latest salvo into cyberspace, you are not alone. Remember how infrastructure was always just on the verge of being addressed? That was always two weeks away. Two more weeks and then — shazaam! You were going to be stupified with how the infrastructure in this country was just going to rebuild itself and overnight, too. And then famously the replacement for Obamacare was two weeks away and we have lost count of how many two-week extensions were given to the original two-week extension. It was non stop goalpost moving. So now we are at our latest two-week “deal” by the greatest dealmaker of them all, or so we are told.

This is exactly the kind of drivel that Trump was talking about with respect to the repeal and replacement of Obamacare and that went on for his entire term. With Trump back in office, the constant procrastination is now moved to other things, away from the (manufactured) opioid crisis, infrastructure, health care and onto global conflicts. Trump has no more idea how to handle the issue in Iran (or Gaza or Ukraine) then he knew how to handle anything domestic.
But the problem is, domestic issues can be left to languish. That does happen. The problems usually get worse, not being attended to, but they generally don’t get explosive. When you’re talking about literal war zones in other countries that the United States is involved with (which is everywhere) then explosive is the name of the game.
So Trump is cornered right now. He’s got to come up with some answers to Ukraine/Russia, Israel/Gaza and Israel/Iran — but he hasn’t a clue. The man talks about the “iranian empire” and nobody knows if he’s speaking of the Persian empire which was defeated 2,500 years ago by Alexander the Great, or a recent iteration of Iran, the “empire” being its oil reserves. Nobody knows. Because Trump’s making it up on the fly. Or whoever is in charge of his phone is.
Trump shared that Putin wished him a Happy Birthday, which may or may not have actually happened. But Trump wants you to believe that Putin and he are really tight and they’re having these great diplomatic talks and peace is just around the corner. Right.
Bear in mind that the last shipments of aid that Biden authorized have now left. There is no more direct U.S. aid for Ukraine now. So basically, Trump has abandoned Ukraine.
Then we have the fact that we don’t even have clarity about the status of Iran and the United States. Marco Rubio is the only one in the administration that has spoken about the matter and he is unclear as to whether the U.S. is at war with Iran. Why might that be?
Yes, and both countries signed an agreement becoming official allies weeks ago.

Well, we can’t be at war with one of Putin’s allies, now can we? This is so phuqued. And it hasn’t even gotten started yet. Netanyahu and Putin are going at it, with Iran and the United States in the middle. This is a diplomat’s nightmare, and would be even if the Gaza conflict and the Ukraine war weren’t raging as well right now.
This country has no foreign policy. All it has is a TV game show host talking mobspeak so as to sound tough. Unfortunately, it takes more than a Scorcese-level sound track to keep actual peace in the world. And that’s all that we’ve got. Horrifying, but true.

I think he said that if he had been in office, Russia would have never invaded Ukraine. If that is the case, why has this conflict broken out? Isn’t he tight with Bibi? The great peace maker he is not.
Just looking at the language he uses, America is represented in international diplomacy by an eight year old.
It’d be so funny if Vlad put out his own statement saying, “It was Donald’s birthday? First I heard of it.”
