Oh, my dear sweet lawd, y’all. All this over a simple pic James Comey took because the shells were pretty. I expect he didn’t even really think about the supposed meaning. He thought the shells were pretty. And now the administration believes he was calling for the assassination of the Pampers President. We could be so lucky?

They are making such a hoo-rah about this, and didn’t need to do so. All that was necessary would have been to ask him to take the pic down and tell him why. Instead, it’s a huge, ridiculous blowup. Oh, and I expect that if he *had* wanted to do such a thing, there are multiple things he could have done that would *not* be seashells. He was the FBI Director, for heaven’s sake!!!

The Department of Homeland Security and Secret Service are investigating a social media post by former FBI Director James Comey that several U.S. officials interpreted as calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Thursday.

Evidently, Comey shared a photo on Instagram showing seashells arranged to form the numbers “8647.” Republican officials soon after responded with apoplexy, at which point the former FBI director — himself a lifelong Republican — deleted the post and said, “I didn’t realize some folks associate it with violence. That didn’t occur to me when I saw it but I am opposed to violence in all circumstances so I took it down.”

Comey added soon after that he simply assumed that the numbers “were a political message.” And while that was hardly an unreasonable assumption — plenty of political figures, from both parties, have used “86” over the years as a shorthand for rejecting political foes — Trump administration officials responded to Comey in dramatic fashion.

I think that should read in *overly* dramatic fashion, because really???!! And others had generally the same *overly* dramatic fashion. Good GRIEF. That eventually included Trumpelthinskin, but of course. See my eyes roll back in my head and come up lemons. It seems that a lot of “Agent Orange’s” people are thin-skinned, too. It’s possible that Republicans are sincerely outraged by the former FBI director’s seashell code, but recent history suggests some skepticism is in order.

Noem, for example, issued on online statement that claimed, “Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey just called for the assassination” of the president. Taylor Budowich, a White House deputy chief of staff, accused Comey of putting out “what can clearly be interpreted as a hit on the sitting president of the United States.”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard appeared on Fox News and said she wants to see Comey “put behind bars for this.” A variety of GOP lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, scrambled to toe the party line and condemn the former FBI director.

Lawd have MUCH mercy! But now they are investigating him. It’s also possible that this elaborate show of anti-Comey wrath is performative. Gee, ya think???!!!? The more I read of this article, the more annoyed I get with the stupidity. Funny how I keep forgetting Uncle Scam’s leaders are simply little parrots of him. After all, look who he appointed and somehow pushed through for the leaders of his government. You know, like Tulsi Russian agent? Yuh huh.

Trump soured on Comey, and ultimately fired him in the hopes of derailing the FBI’s investigation into the president’s Russia scandal.

In the years that followed, Trump continued to target the former FBI director, accusing Comey of “treason,” and even calling for his prosecution over unidentified crimes.

In other words, Team Trump has long seen Comey as a villain who should be targeted and investigated. His since-deleted Instagram post appears to have given the president’s operation an excuse to do what it wanted to do anyway.

An excuse, and a bad one at that. Remember, I will say ad nauseum, this man led the FBI. He’s not stupid like they assume he is. That’s far too blatant, and ridiculously simple, a way to do that. It just is. And he’s not that sloppy. So Republican or not, this has been blown out of proportion. I hope he told the Secret Service off in his voluntary interview. That would have been lovely. Thanks for sticking with me!

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

  1. All this coming from the folks who call US “snowflakes.”

Comey should come out and boast that Drumpf would never have been President if he hadn’t *deliberately* reopened the email investigation for the SOLE PURPOSE of getting Drumpf elected the first time. Wouldn’t that give the “man” who PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE some real apoplexy? (If he’s ever put in a situation where he’d have to testify to that, he could always tell the truth that he was just “making a joke” and that no one should have taken it seriously–unless they were already inclined to believe it but Comey’s not responsible for what idiots and morons might believe.)

  2. I didn’t know what “86” meant and only after reading about the kerfuffle did I notice the “47”. At any rate, it is effectively saying something similar to “down with Big Brother”. The intention of Winston (in 1984) was to wish that Big Brother would go away. The general meaning of 86 is to “remove” (from a place), such as a restaurant. It is more a reflection of them than it is of Comey that they would read something more.
