Remember those retaliatory tariffs for the US that Ontario backed down on? Now, add in the additional punishing tariffs that THE MAN WHO PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE has laid out. This time, the province of Ontario has had it and they’re not playing. Let me tell you about it. “The premier of Canada’s most populous province is retaliating against President Donald Trump’s harsh new tariffs against his country with a blanket ban on U.S. companies from receiving provincial contracts. On Monday, Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario, announced the new policy change on X, making clear that it would remain in effect as long as Trump’s tariffs do.” Nope, he isn’t playing this time. It’s done and will stay done until, when, and a big IF, tRump’s tariffs on Canada are removed. We know what the chances are of that, right?
Our excuse for a president has screwed over our neighbors and has now made it worse. This goes back to the whole “he doesn’t think” explanation. People have figured out how he chose the tariff numbers to increase to and it’s pitiful. There are some that I know of that shouldn’t have had that high of an increase. Is he just trying to isolate us even more? Businesses have plants overseas for products in China that they have been moving to Vietnam to get out of China because of Traitor Tot’s machinations. Vietnam got a ridiculous tariff increase. But, back to Canada.
Here, have some quotes from Raw Story: The premier of Canada’s most populous province, Doug Ford is retaliating against President Donald Trump’s harsh new tariffs against his country with a blanket ban on U.S. companies from receiving provincial contracts. On Monday, Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario, stated, “Every year, the Ontario government and its agencies spend $30 billion on procurement, alongside our $200 billion plan to build Ontario,” wrote Ford, who leads the right-leaning Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. “U.S.-based businesses will now lose out on tens of billions of dollars in new revenues. They only have President Trump to blame.”
WHAM! There ya go, Trumpy! I’m willing to bet the other provinces feel the same, including the ones where we get the majority of our oil. And how about the one that provides electricity? With Ontario leading the way, they may also now be brave enough to follow. Here’s the best part. “But Ford took it one step further, and singled out pro-Trump tech billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which provides satellite internet services for the Ontario government. “We’ll be ripping up the province’s contract with Starlink,” said Ford. “Ontario won’t do business with people hellbent on destroying our economy.” WHAM! There ya go, Muskrat. Cue maniacal laughter.
The tariffs are, supposedly, in retaliation for fentanyl seizures and migrant entrances. Only a tiny fraction of those things comes from our northern border. Once again, Agent Orange hasn’t bothered to look at or listen to those numbers. I was crabby the first time he put tariffs on Canada, and now I’m irate. I’m certainly not going to be able to visit there ever again. Also, remember, Canadian tourists are getting stopped at the border, and ICE is going through their belongings. They’re not going to visit now. This whole tariff war is ridiculous. There are a number of countries, like Canada, that could put us in a world of hurt by stopping shipping and even manufacturing. The stock market is still cratering. Prices and inflation continue to go up, up, up. For all of you that voted for him, I ask, what are you going to do, now that your god has brought you to this? I’ll bet I wouldn’t get answers on that because they don’t want to admit they were scammed. They don’t want to admit they were wrong. And what if a Democrat did this, hmmmmm?

Zoomers, we feel guilty asking for cash, but if you can spare a small amount, it will keep us trekking through cyberspace. Many hands make light work, many small contributions add up to enough. And most of all, we thank you for coming here to read. Ursula

Good for Premier Ford. Ontario is probably the hardest hit province. I think others will soon follow his lead. What we are waiting for is an announcement on the federal F-35 purchase. I’m sure it will be cancelled, but there are some issues to sort out with NATO. Portugal has already cancelled their purchase. If other members cancel, it could mean significant layoffs at Lockheed Martin. Putin must be ROTFL.
I used to live in Florida and Snowbirds from Canada were a big deal every winter. From what I’m hearing from friends still there, there weren’t nearly as many Ontario license plates to be seen this year. HA!
