Body language is a form of science. There used to be a terrific body language expert on Twit/X but if he has chimed in on this debacle today, I haven’t found it. Donald Trump went to various places today with Disaster Barbie in tow. He mentioned to North Carolinians, “The next hurricane you have, you’re on your own.”

Wow, that’s comforting isn’t it? And then Trump went from a “red state” (his term) to a “blue state” and that was a howler. First of all, let me present you with a photograph of Trump leaning so far forward in his shoe lifts that if a strong wind comes up, it’s all over. He’ll be on his face. (What I wouldn’t give to see that.)

No wonder Trump hates to have his shoes on and takes them off when he’s in front of a podium, like he did in Butler, Pennsylvania. You would to if you were a walking imitation of the Leaning Tower of Pizza. Eye eye eye. Trump claims to be 6’3″ and Newsom is 6’3.” Which means Trump is probably 5’10” and the lifts take him to 6’1″ which is about right. He looks an inch or two shorter than Newsom. Too bad Newsom didn’t troll him with lifts of his own, that would have driven Trump insane. I think I’ll send that idea to the California’s governor’s mansion.

And here’s the exchange where Newsom humors Trump. You can see Trump do his power shake bullshit on Newsom, grabbing his hand back. Newsom takes it in stride, just like Emmanuel Macron did. They know what they’re getting into the minute Bozo comes down the steps. (You can fast forward to 4:33 to get the Newsom/Trump exchange.)

Now let’s do a few closeups on this. This will amuse you. It’s a shame that Trump’s blocking the two shots of Newsom and Melania, that is worth watching.

Shades of Melania and Justin Trudeau. In fact, shades of Melania and any guy who’s not her husband. And it gets weirder still.

Occam’s Razor is always good. It could have just been Donald’s smell. I have another theory to throw in. I heard a director coach an actress one time when she was in a scene where she was driving a car to move her facial muscles a bit to establish some “inner life” as opposed to just staring ahead. Sounded okay at the time, I wonder if somebody gave the Slovenian Sphinx the same kind of coaching. She is stiff as a board and expressionless, so maybe somebody did want to “humanize” her.

You think I’m done, right? It can’t get worse? HA! Oh ye of little faith. Behold. Soon the word batshit will go the way of unprecedented as the most overused word in the English language.

You see that he’s got a wild hair for this eliminating FEMA madness. I hope it doesn’t happen. If it does happen, then maybe some of the red states, which are disaster prone, will come to realize what they voted for, the hard way. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. I have been in a flooded Los Angeles, I have been in wildfires where the lights went out and we didn’t know if we would have to evacuate. I lived through the Northridge quake, which was declared a national disaster.

All those times we had federal assistance. I don’t want to think of what it would be like trying to get through that kind of hardship without federal aid. Trump is an idiot and he’s insane. But maybe that lesson can only be learned by certain people when they’re sitting in the dark with no drinking water and starving. Here’s one last batshit remark.

He’s going to open up the non existent pumps and valves in the north. Righto. Let us know how that works out for you, Donald.

Sure…I hate it for the children, but unless there’s some real tragedy in the red states, nothing will change. By the way, there’s a great article on DK, posted by Tom Hartmann, that lays out the facts that he and the GOP stole this one also through purging votes and voter suppression. The facts are depressing since they succeeded AGAIN, and the Democrats live in a fantasy world…homeless on the so called ‘high road’. The On The Road To Hell club. At least the American Nazi Party understands its a fight to the death. Either the rich pay up, or end democracy and the middle class. They are united in their fight and willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES. The rich Democrats aren’t sure they really want the fight…after all most of them are rich also. So Trump…play Judas and do what you have to do…bring down the modern Roman empire. They all fall eventually anyway…especially when the citizens DON’T CARE. Hell…you can’t even keep a houseplant alive if you don’t care…much less a democracy. Good times America. Has the price of eggs come down yet? Not yet? Democracy traded for chicken embryos. B E A UTIFUL!!!

    • Scott, Nazis understand that politics is a fight to the death because that’s how they view it, always have. Hitler was happily astounded that the Weimar govt didn’t even try to crush his newborn National Socialist Workers Party, as he knew that a brutal response was the only one which would have worked. Instead of a feeble Weimar, we had Biden’s useless AG Garland, whose Federalist Society philosphy dictated that he not destroy MAGA and the Trumpist fascists. We the people now pay the price.

You know, if Trump really did say that about Florida being “on its own” after the next hurricane hits, I’m REALLY hoping that God/Yahweh/Allah/the Flying Spaghetti Monster directs it to bear down directly on Mar-a-Lago. I know that’ll cause a lot of hardship for a lot of innocent folks but I seriously imagine many of the folks within a 10-block radius of that trash heap voted for Trump so those folks will also deserve whatever happens with that hurricane (sorry for the true innocents who didn’t vote for Trump and wind up in the path of that disaster but, you know, an actual, for-real higher deity will spare them from that wrath–although you then have to question why that same being decided that ALL Egyptian first-borns, even animals, had to die because of God’s hardening Pharaoh’s heart or that all infant males under the age of 2 had to die at the hands of Herod’s minions because of Jesus).

    Who wants to bet that Trump will ensure that every last available Federal resource will be used to help finance the full restoration of the site? Hell, he’ll probably issue an “executive order” directing every single insurance company in the whole country pay $1 billion towards the rebuilding on top of diverting funds from every government agency (and, then, of course, he’ll send out a “fundraising” appeal to MAGA for THEIR “help” to rebuild his “home”).

    • Let’s remember that, since none of us have talked to a burning bush, or heard a voice from heaven, I’m assuming the Jews wrote all that down many years later to justify their actions. You know…like all the Westerns show the American Indians as savages, and us as the good guys, while we’re stealing their land. Killing, raping, and mutilating bodies of women, children, and old people at the massacres at Sand Creek and Wounded Knee didn’t interest Hollywood. Given the scale of the slaughter and destruction in Gaza in response to Hamas killing less than 1500 people…well I’m not sure the Jews are even moral people. We know already, given our current criminal got 78 million votes, and millions sat home and didn’t vote, we aren’t a moral country. As far as his kingdom in the senior citizen Jewish retirement home called Florida…why wait? Just raze it, and build a structure worthy of his highness. Hitler scammed the German people to build the magnificent Eagles Nest. Now that we have a king…a king should have a real castle. Who would stop him? The democrats? Lol…I don’t think so. Paper tigers.   4. 🤗 Ursula, that photograph of the lean! The photographer should get a Pulitzer for getting it just as Newsom is pointing his finger at Sphincter Face’s chest to make a point. It absolutely looks like Newsom is the only thing holding him upright! 🤣
    And, in another sense, Newsom is one of the fewer and fewer barriers keeping Trump “upright” at all!! ✊️
