Get Michelle is the rallying cry of MAGA these days. Michelle Obama will not attend the second Trump Inauguration and MAGA is up in arms over that fact. So up in arms that now the situation has gone to full blown animosity towards Michelle for things that are not, in fact, true. Melania Trump was on Fox News the other day announcing how her “fans and people” loved her book so much that she wants to make a movie out of herself so that they’ll have even more to love. And while going on about that, Melania was asked what would be different in the White House this time. Melania lies here on tape that information “was upheld” — the fluent in five languages, world class linguist doesn’t know the word “withheld” — about the White House. Bull pucky. (Apologies for the stupid comment preceding the clip, this is the MAGA viewpoint of this.)
Melania says the first time she moved into the White House the Obamas withheld information in order to make the process more difficult.
It’s the kind of petty behavior you expect from a childish woman like Michelle.

“Are the Bidens still living there?” OMFG. Are people this stupid? Yes, people are this stupid. The fact that Trump got elected again underscores that sad truth now and forever. Where else would be Bidens be, on a park bench nearby?
But getting to the heart of the matter, nothing was “withheld” from Melania. Melania was invited to come to tea with Michelle after the 2016 election and at that time she had full access to any and everything she wanted, from a tour of the residence to all details of room size, whatever was wanted. That’s how these transitions have been done forever. Nothing was “withheld.” The real ugliness of this is that Trump himself said after he entered the White House that the Obamas had been very kind and then all that got forgotten later in the overriding need for tribal warfare.
And even if Michelle had “withheld” something, then was Melania justified in withholding all courtesies from Jill Biden? Because that’s exactly what happened. Melania not only refused to do her duty as the then-First Lady and invite the new First Lady in, she refused to do the right thing again when refusing Jill Biden’s invitation to come to the White House.
What frosts me about all this is that both Jill Biden and Michelle Obama were perfect ladies and did what they were expected to do. The outlier here is Melania. She has no business complaining about Michelle, but of course she is. And she also had no business being openly rude to Jill Biden — twice — but that’s the norm as well.
And yet MAGA loves this “classy” FLOTUS. Classy is as classy does.
I agree with Michelle Obama’s decision to stay home from the Inauguration. In fact, I wouldn’t blame Barack, both of the Clintons, the Bushs and whomever else is invited if they felt like blowing it off, too. Why give the Trumps the courtesy of pretending that this is all business as usual when even J.D. Vance, the freaking new vice president, is blowing off the Inauguration so that he can watch football?

The lies!! 24/7/365!! Everything was “upheld” from Melania in January 2017 so her move-in was challenging?! She didn’t move in to the White House in January!! She and Barron lived in New York until he finished school!!
And about Michelle. Why is there any pressure on her to attend the inauguration? She was never an elected official and she has been out of the White House for 8 years! She’s a private citizen with a busy life. Leave her the F alone!!
Not only did the orange slime duo blow off welcoming the Bidens to the WH, they looted it and then locked the doors. This POS couldn’t be bothered to move her buffed and shining ass (which we’d all seen by then) to Washington for months and then complains that she didn’t know where her rooms were.
Whenever a writer bemoans that WE elected the turd, it makes my blood boil. WE did NOT elect him. The distorted system of an electoral college elected him despite the popular vote.
