I’m sure you remember the giant Trump chicken that the Chinese fabricated and put in one of their shopping malls. That was the source of much laughter. And then the Trump baby blimp flew proudly over the UK — until it crossed both the Irish Sea and the English Channel and then flew proudly there. MAGAs did not take lightly to the Trump baby blimp. The blimp got stabbed in London, alas, and it could soar no more.
But never fear, another blimp was constructed and took it’s rightful place in the air and ruled the sky. And in the same vein of Trump mockery, here we have Chiitan, Japan’s most famous mascot, reprising his Trump mockery from 2020. Chiitan is a “zero years old fairy baby” in the shape of an otter with a turtle for a hat. (Unless he’s wearing Trump hair.) Seriously.
So now we know that a lot of the Chinese hate Trump and so do a lot of the Japanese. And Ireland and the UK hate him, that’s for sure. In fact, we could sit here and just enumerate the countries of the world and we will be hard pressed to find a country where Trump is revered, save Hungary, Argentina, and a few other dictatorships. And in that case, most of the people don’t like him either, but they go along to get along so the wrong people don’t come kicking in the doors one night. John Oliver has more on Chiitan.
Just wait for Inauguration Day. America is already in an official state of mourning, due to the death of Jimmy Carter, but it would be in a state of mourning had President Carter not passed. We are a divided people and it is tragic what is about to happen in America.
Trump, of course, is promising all kinds of executive orders on Day One, a “shock and awe” attack. God help us. But we did promise you spectacle. That you are guaranteed to get. Whether you will see another hamstrung House passing 1/2 of the normal number of bills, probably. Whether you will see a Republican-led Senate confirm some of the worse nominees in history, most likely, although expect a few surprises. So spectacle you will get. Just like they got when Rome fell.

Trump is whining about v the flags being at half mast for his inauguration. The custom.established by Eisenhower was flags at half mast for 30 days after the death of a former president. Trumptydumpty says no president has had his parade rained on like that ever,,ever,,EVER, WITCH HUNT. Except he is wrong. Truman died and Nixon’s inauguration happened (and I went to one of the balls because my grad roommate volunteered for Nixon’s campaign and got tickets) despite the death of Harry Truman.
I swear the man thinks Carter died just to ruin his day. Actually,, Jimmy wanted to!live until November so.he could vote for Harris, so.maybe for once Trump.got something almost right. Personally, I suspect Jimmy and Rosalynn, one of my favorite First Ladies who refused to shell out for a new evening gown for the balks but wore the one she had bought for his gubernatorial ball, are looking down and enjoying the sight of the Toddler in Chief having a meltdown.
