This appears to be some function of the Inner Cult. Not much is known about the Founding Father Award except that Donald Trump has gotten it twice. The award is given by Moms For America. This is a group that, according to its website, “is a national movement of moms reclaiming our culture for truth, family freedom and the constitution. We Activate, Empower and Mobilize Moms to promote and advance freedom in our homes, communities and through our vote.” In any event, they gave this same award to Trump when he was in office before and they gave it to him again at his Mar-a-Lago club today.

I would not be the least surprised. Kristi Noem had a sculpture made of Trump’s face on Mt. Rushmore. She’d be all for it. Daily Beast:

The piece has never been publicly seen and little was known about it beyond a disclosure filing with the Office of Government Ethics that indicated it cost $1,100, which Noem’s office said was paid for by private donors.

But the Daily Beast has obtained a photo of the replica, which as The New York Times first reported, does indeed depict Trump carved into the Lakota people’s sacred Black Hills, right next to Lincoln’s face.

Trump reportedly wished that his mug could be added to the real thing, but Noem, of course, could not make that happen. Instead she found donors to underwrite the smaller ego-stroking project.

Noem’s staff then contacted Dallerie Davis, a Rapid City art agent and Realtor who serves as a liaison for several sculptors in the state, according to Davis and another person familiar with the inner workings of Noem’s office who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Noem’s camp wanted to know: was it possible to create a Mount Rushmore figurine with Trump attached—and do so in about a month?

Davis told The Daily Beast she thought of Lee Leuning and Sherri Treeby, a South Dakota sculpting team with scores of pieces on display in the state and across the Midwest. (They have even been contracted to sculpt a Johnny Carson statue for the late Tonight Show host’s hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska, though sculpting work on that project has yet to begin.)

Leuning and Treeby were good, could work fast and, perhaps best of all, they were Trump supporters, Davis said.

More cult activity. The photo atop this piece is of a painting by Jon McNaughton, famous for his different paintings of Donald Trump. In this one he looks more like Burt Lancaster than his pudgy, orange tinted self, but what the hey. It’s all in the eye of the beholder, right?

Maybe Moms For America will give Trump a Founding Fathers Award every year. Who knows?

  1. Since the facts are the US Government gave that land,(stolen from them in the first place), to the Lakota, as it was thought worthless,(although the Black Hills are sacred to the Lakota). Then gold was discovered and the treaty was essentially worthless. Then many years later, the land grabbers chisel a mountain into a monument to celebrate their ‘nation’, built on the destruction of the American Indian nation. Seems a perfect fit for another conqueror. Will he insist on bronzer?

  2. Well, the simple fact is that most geologists are of the opinion there is NO room for any additional carving to be done without risking the complete destruction of the entire monument.

Of course, we all know that if some moron did start sculpting Trump’s horrid visage on the monument and the addition caused the current monument to be destroyed, Trump and his MAGAt followers would blame the Democrats for it (you know, because “Geology” votes for Democrats and has always been a critic of Donald Trump).

    • The amazing thing is that you likely couldn’t PAY most U.S. presidents to have their face on that sacred monument. Could you imagine, W – or Obama, with the proposition? “Good God. No!”

Not wanting history to evaluate them alongside the real founders. Even TDR is a big stretch.

  3. I’ve said it before, but it’s perhaps worth repeating.

I don’t really object to Trump being placed on Mt Rushmore.

As long as his body is staked down properly and it could be proved it wouldn’t poison the vultures.

    • Pretty sure there’s NOTHING that can poison vultures–at least, nothing that wouldn’t have killed Trump in the process. For instance, chemical poisons intended to kill unwanted wildlife and plants (pesticides, herbicides, etc) or pollutants can lead to secondary poisoning but most vulture species are highly resistant to things like anthrax and hog cholera and botulinum toxin (which would typically kill any other predatory or scavenging species).

Considering there’s not much research on vultures scavenging or preying (some species will eat live prey) on irradiated animals, it’s not known if they could survive eating such meat or if they somehow can “sense” the radiation and avoid such food. There are species that inhabit the desert Southwest which has been hit by a lot of atomic bomb testing from the 1940s through the early 1960s (underground testing would continue till the 1990s) but, again, no one seems to have checked the effects on vulture species’ scavenging or predatory activities. I would imagine vultures would be affected by radiation the same way they would to chemical poisons but, generally speaking, they could probably–and easily–survive feasting on Trump’s exposed body.

  4. I visited Mt. Rushmore several times as a kid. When you live in Iowa and have 6 kids, my parents couldn’t afford Disneyworld. Now that I know the truth about it and that it is a middle finger to the native tribes in the area by desecrating their sacred mountain by carving the faces of four white men who headed a government that stole their land, Trump or no, I would never visit it again.

  5. Moms for America is one of the usual suspects spreading hate and conspiracy theories. They are on Southern Poverty Law Center’s hate group list…proudly I imagine. As with many of these groups, they exist primarily for having awards luncheons at Mar-a-Lago. Recent honorees are Tulsi Gabbard and Vivek Ramaswamy. The latest of several awards given to Trump is “Man of the Century” because he saved Ameica! 💩 As far as I know, they didn’t specify which century! 🤣
