Thin skinned is one thing, dangerous is another. Donald Trump is drunk with vainglory in the days after he easily cowed ABC News into a $15 million settlement for nothing. It was not a defamation suit. George Stefanopoulos said Trump was an adjudicated rapist and in fact a judge pronounced him to be such. And it’s entered into the Congressional Record as such. That set a horrifically bad precedent and ABC News will live to regret their decision to settle, is my prediction. I’m sure they did it because they wanted to avoid bad publicity but that was the wrong call. Rolling over for Trump merely makes it easier for him to go after other people and now he’s going after Iowa pollster Ann Selzer and the Des Moines Register.

This is a totally frivolous lawsuit, if indeed any of his lawyers will bring it. I don’t know what tort he is alleging here. Being wrong has never been a tort, so far as I know. He seems to believe that there is a conspiracy afoot to make him look bad in Iowa. He won. Why does he care? But again, winning is never enough for Trump. It’s got to be a perfect win, the bestest win, the most incredible win that anybody has ever seen, with no opposition from anybody.
I don’t think this lawsuit will get off the ground but maybe his lawyers will come up with something strange like intentional infliction of emotional distress against poor Donald. I think it’s inconceivable that Ann Selzer would have deliberately falsified her data, considering her stellar reputation as a pollster. But apparently that’s what Trump seeks to have his lawyers find. Unbelievable. And of course he had to drag this old chestnut out of the fire.

And this is ominous. Trump intends to sue the little people.

So again, we are all on notice from Big Brother to not do anything other than laud him with praise and deify him as right-wing media does. Is he actually going to go through with these threats? I guess we’re all going to find out. “Dishonest” in Trump speak means “saying anything that I don’t want to hear.” By that metric, half the country is dishonest.
It will be interesting to see what Trump attempts to do. Right now he’s in the catbird seat, or certainly feels himself to be. He’s got ABC News cowed and he’s looking to expand on that and cow everybody else. Maybe it won’t be that easy.
Even if he loses, he wins. Being sued and having to defend yourself is expensive, lawyers and court costs are expensive – unaffordable for most people. And, of course if he loses, he just appeals and delays and delays. It’s what he did anyway before, but now he’s President, he has the bottomless pocket of the USA government to fund his legal adventures.
His magats wanted a bully elected. They got one.
That last civil case he lost, the ‘rape’ case? He still hasn’t paid out any money as instructed by the court, around $ half a billiion owing – and NOW he’s suing people who comment on it.
And he’s not even in power yet.
His look reminds me of a paper mache pumpkin we made in the fourth grade. The color is a match.
