I’m wondering if Donald Trump himself isn’t responsible for some of the anti-Elon Musk commentary that has been seeping through the cracks. We did hear a few weeks ago that Trump said, “I can’t get rid of him,” meaning his ubiquitous Mar-a-Lago guest. Send him packing like you did Kari Lake, Donald. How hard can that be? Oh that’s right, Kari didn’t give you $277 million and buy Twitter to swing the election. How silly of me. In all events, Donald isn’t the only one to object to Musk, other Trump supporters have issues with him. And bear in mind, DOGE hasn’t even started the “temporary hardship.”
He's taken many punches to the head and even he gets what's happening. Thank you. @ThugnastyMMA

This could be the start of something big. Musk is being called on to be a philanthropist when the fact of the matter is that he’s involved with Trump for the purpose of lining his pockets even further with government contracts. Make no mistake, that’s why he’s there.
But I’m sure that what will be reported in months and years to come will be something else. After ABC News rolled over today on a defamation case that they would have easily won on the merits, I have little faith in anything getting reported fairly. Maybe the AP and Reuter’s will remain incorruptible. For now. I think that television news outlets and cable news outlets are up for grabs. They were rarely straight journalism organs in the first place, expect them to be the first to fold.
Newspapers will also be challenged. I’ve given up on the Los Angeles Times and I’m waiting with bated breath to see what, if anything, the Washington Post does to stay honest. Independent journalists and smaller outfits (I’m thinking Josh Marshall, David Cay Johnston) will still get the truth.
And the disinformation silos will continue to pump out their bilge, of that you may be certain. Here’s a sample of what that looks like.

People listen to this. The worst candidate ever to run for president, let alone be elected, let alone twice, has been raised to mythic and even godlike status. And people are buying it, evidently. That’s what they’re going to find out in a short while, is that what was advertised and what they got are two very different things.
Trump is already foreshadowing that when he says, “I can’t guarantee anything. I can’t guarantee tomorrow.” And when he says, “It’s hard to bring things down once they go up. You know, it’s very hard.”
Yes, we know, Donald. And we know that Joe Biden did a fine job of containing inflation in a post-pandemic global economy. But he didn’t have his own information outlets blaring 24/7. Maybe that’s what it will take for Democrats to catch up. As the old saying goes, “A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth has had a chance to put on its boots.” Me thinks it’s time for us to put on our boots and fight back. Trump won the low information, no information people with his propaganda. Truth needs to punch back.

Ursula, in the same vein, I copy my response to one of your recent articles: DNC must set up a TTT Team: Talk The Truth Team to instantly address every Trump/MAGA/Repugnant Lie. Establish the facts and disseminate everywhere: to media and every relevant group person as armour and talking points. No small task; probably no small team but take the offensive from Day 1 putting them on and keeping them on the back foot. Mock them and sap their confidence in what they are doing to reinforce the realisation that they’ve been had. No passive acceptance as before: “Aw shucks, you know what he’s like”.
Keep hammering THE LIES AND, THE FACTS THAT HE SAID WERE REALLY LIES. CALL HIM A SPADE AND NAME SHAME ALL THE SYCOPHANTS WHO ARE LIERS. STOP giving oxygen to these people. And the really easy part, demand for the truth to be told
I hope that at some time, when all of us have been stripped of benefits, the FDIC is gone and the banks are closed, there is no food that we can afford, that magas will rise up, realizing it was the BILLIONAIRES who took it all away just to add to their bank accounts. Maybe the class war will start and they will topple the orange jeebus and stop this disaster from getting worse. They were idiots to believe anything the lying felon told them. Now they will, like us, find out that the truth is very painful. Maybe it will make them awaken. Either way, for muskrat to have almost $300 BILLION is obscene and he just wants more as do all the cabinet nominees and the felon. Take it from us and it might be the end of them. Let’s sit back, tighten the belts, and hope and pray for the best, if there is a best.
Once upon a (loooong) time, Joe Rogan was a half-way believable podcaster, with views which could fairly be labelled as eclectic and/or centrist, if not downright liberal. Wot happened? I suspect the usual villain: money, and greed for more of it. None of these people seem to ever have enough to slake their thirst for more more more. Shallow people living shallow lives.
