Rome had Caligula and we have Tangerine Palpatine. This is a page out of the Roman Empire when Caligula ruled, before his nemeses decided they’d finally had enough of him and stabbed him in the back one night when he was crossing in a tunnel to go back to his palace. Caligula was Trump on steroids. He had no respect for Roman norms or institutions. He proposed making his horse a senator once, and bringing the beast to their version of congress. And he loved conspicuous consumption. He was known to dissolve pearls, as expensive then as they are now, and drink them in wine, thereby making his wine fantastically expensive. He thought it was all a lark. He used to burn paper money as well. Who knows? Maybe that’s what Trump does to light the fireplaces at Mar-a-Lago, is burn the MAGA rubes’ money. Here’s Emperor Trump making his underlings dance at his command.

CostCo meets Versailles, not only Mar-a-Lago but Trump Tower as well. I’m sure historians will find it amusing that the 45th and 47th president of the United States had a gay pickup song as his personal anthem. I would love to know what they make of it. As a matter of fact, if I could get into cryogenic freeze somehow, I would like to awaken about two hundred years from now and see how they write about this time you and I are endeavoring to survive.

We are at a pivotal point in history, make no mistake. I anticipate a constitutional crisis every week, since Trump so firmly believes that he’s got the Supreme Court in his pocket — and who can blame him for that? Thank you, John Roberts, for having skewed the Constitution so that Trump can shred it all the easier.

Just remember: the country is split down the middle. We are two countries. That is sad. I remember Barack Obama saying clearly, “There is no liberal America and there is no conservative America, there is only the United States of America.” When you were in power, Sir. Yes, that was true. But now? Now there are two Americas. Tragic but unfortunately true.

Just what did they think they were doing granting ‘full immunity’ to a President.

And leading on from that, just what useful thing is Biden going to do with it while he can?

    Anything?

Or are we just waiting for the toddler to take the car keys and drive the country off a cliff.

I hope Biden is noting the massive support he’s getting from his side for The Pardon, and isn’t getting distracted by the pathetic hypocritical bleating from billionaire owned media, and this is providing guidance to what he should do with his immunity.

  2. Biden’s biggest failure to protect the nation was his appointment of the weak-kneed Garland as AG. It should have been clear after a year of doing nothing that Garland wasn’t the man for the job and should have been replaced. Jack Smith would have been ideal,or anyone else with a spine and some balls. The current crisis was avoidable, but it required strength in the defense of our democracy. We didn’t get that.
