Donald Trump and many of his cohorts are sending out videos of the recent Butler, Pennsylvania appearance, wherein Elon Musk jumped up and down on stage, while Trump said not for the first time, that he “took a bullet for democracy.” Not to be a total buzz kill, but it was reported that four motorcycle cops near Trump were treated for “minor injuries” from flying debris, at a local hospital, the day of the July shooting. Very likely Trump was also hit by the same flying debris. Yet that is not the story the media ran with. Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that he was struck “by a bullet” and that became the gospel. A known liar said he was struck by a bullet, from an AR-15 no less, and that was reported forevermore.
Then Christopher Wray, head of the FBI, appeared before Congress and said that it was likely “shrapnel” that struck Trump and his reaction to that was to go ballistic. How dare Wray contradict Trump’s claim of a miracle saving his life, when his wife-on-paper had spoken of the “violent bullet that struck my husband” and he was busy selling shotglasses with bullets embedded in the glass? Now, Butler Pennsylvania has become what Bethleham and Jerusalem were to the Christians of olde, the sites of miracles involving their saviour. So Trump went back to do a sermon on the mount, a kind of pilgrimage, this week.

I think Trump should break a Big Mac and fries in two and pass it on to the next person at his next rally, don’t you? And if his AI and special effects people can figure out a way to do it, trust me, you will be seeing it on Twitter/X. That’s a verity. Now here’s a clip you’ll love. I don’t specifically know whether Trump was responding to crowd size or what his topic was, but it’s the reaction that you need to see, regardless.

I am now searching to see if I can find more of that interview and I’ll share it with you when and if I find it. But the image of Trump telling yet another lie and somebody laughing in his face in real time is indeed comical. If that’s the best part of the interview and it may be, then that’s fine. I hope this gets recycled into a political attack ad in record time, like yesterday’s revelation that Trump was giving COVID supplies to his Russian buddy, Vladimir, did. And of course, this is the MAGA response.
This is a terrible development in American politics and this is the legacy of this awful man. Before, people abided by the electoral college, or in the case of the 2000 election, in the decision of the Supreme Court. The 2000 election was heartbreaking with 500 votes in corrupt as hell Florida, making the difference. But still Al Gore chose to take the high road and let the election results be.
Now, we may be splitting off from all that precedent. I am hoping and praying that this is a definitive election and Kamala Harris wins by such a margin that there will be no grounds to allege fraud — but fraud will be alleged anyway. And that may be the way going forward. Everytime there’s a Democratic victory, it’s fraud, but when the pendulum swings back and a Republican gets in, oh, that’s alright. No fraud this time out.
And that is just how crazy things may be. Or, maybe when Trump gets resoundingly thumped next month, and Madam President is the screaming headline everywhere, maybe the GOP will do as I predicted and beginning dumping Trump and disavowing him in droves, like the remaining Nazis did to Hitler, after his fall.
