Late night host Stephen Colbert took his show on the road to cover the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week and last night made an unexpected discovery – Melania Trump hiding in the one place she is fairly certain that the Orangeutan won’t look for her. At first Melania seemed a little confused about future First Gentleman Doug Emhoff‘s status, thinking the diabolical Dems had used some kind of magic to turn the First Lady into a man, but Stephen explained and a dismayed Melania wondered why Kamala gets to have a gentleman and she doesn’t. “She gets Doug Emhoff and I’m stuck with this jagoff…”
Funny stuff:
“Stephen Colbert found out where Melania Trump was hiding on Tuesday with the help of Laura Benanti’s impression of the former first lady.
“Her complete absence from the campaign trail has a lot of people wondering: where is Melania?” the “Late Show” host said.
In character as Melania Trump, Benanti, standing in front of a Democratic National Convention background, greeted viewers, “Hello Chicago!”
“Why are you there?” Colbert asked.
“Because this week, there is no chance my husband will be here.”
Stephen then uncovers exactly why Melania is hanging out at the convention…
“Oh, Stephen, I am trying to uncover the secrets behind the Kamalanomenon. Like her plot to attract voters by making them — ah, what is this word — happy?”
Certainly a novel approach for a Trump…
When Stephen reminded Melania that a some point she would have to rejoin the dotard, and that she couldn’t stay in Chicago indefinitely, Melania donned her “da Bears” costume and demonstrated she would do whatever it takes to stay in “Mar-A-Chicago” rather than return to Florida.
Then she had some trouble with her mustache…
Like I said, funny stuff:
I hope Melania got to see Doug Emhoff’s speech in support of his wife, rumor has it that drumpf begged her to appear at the RNC last month but to no avail.
And if she caught Michelle Obama’s performance last night I am sure she found a lot of plagiarism worthy material in that great speech!
Kudos to the great Laura Benanti for her hilarious impersonation of the clueless one… Laura always steals the show!
