We’ve been through a dreadful three weeks since June 27. The cat herd that is the Democratic party decided to start clawing and scratching none other than our own standard bearer, in a moment of epic self-destruction. It has been a time of rank dismay and dismay within the ranks. Wedged into the past three weeks, the past three days in fact, was the horrific shitshow known as the Republican National Convention. The convention ended after four days of gaslighting with its standard bearer, Donald Trump, giving probably the worse speech of his life. It had all the downside of former speeches, the sharks and batteries, late, great Hannibal Lecter, all that madness. But it had one shining attribute and that is this: It showed how utterly beatable Trump is. He stank on ice. However spaced Joe Biden was June 27 from his cold, jetlap, overpreparation, whatever, Trump was far worse. Vastly worse. The crowd was dozing. Fast forward to 20:50 if you want to hear how beatable Trump is, although this is a fine twenty-minute post, if you can listen to it in its entirety.
Again I repeat the obvious: this election is between two old men, both of whom have served four years in the White House. When we vote for the incumbent president, we’re voting for four more years of competent stewardship characterized by infrastructure, (not the promise of it) job growth, (not loss) crucial prescription drug cost lowering, (not temporary or partial) competent foreign relations, (not groveling to dictators and alienating our allies) and you know the rest of the list as well as I do.
Or, we go batshit and replace Joe Biden (and maybe Kamala, there’s talk of that, too) and we might elevate the bandaged loon who falls asleep in court and at his own coronation to “normalcy candidate” status.
We need to stay the course. Biden’s finishing up his recovery from COVID and he’ll be back on the campaign trail. I don’t think it would be remiss if a petition was circulated amongst registered Democrats and we simply tell our elected officials to chill and get beyond their bedwetting and behind the reelection of our president. Enough, already. We need to stop snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

From Allan Lichtman:
Joe, Don’t You Quit!!!
Maybe if the cowards in the democratic party would stop thinking about their own asses, which ARE AND WILL BE WEALTHY NO MATTER WHAT, and start thinking of themselves AS SOLIDERS FOR WINNING THIS WAR, we can WIN THIS GODDAMN WAR. I would bet my sorry ass that no solider in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WW2, etc. EVER THOUGHT they’d be set for life by putting their VERY LIVES on the line. No. Most wondered if they’d come back alive and in one piece. My five uncles in WW2, my green beret uncle in Vietnam, and my father, a Korean war veteran, came home alive, but never the same. Some became quiet, speaking very little. Some, like my old man, became alcoholics. Some were eaten up inside with God knows what. ALL were wounded in one way or another. My green beret uncle got shot in Vietnam, went back, got shot again, went back and got shot a 3rd time, kinda like the Christopher Walken character in Deer Hunter…phucked up and self destructive. Eventually drinking himself to death. GOD HOW I DESPISE THESE PHUCKING PRIVILEGED COWARDS, including some I USED to respect. They either never knew or have forgotten the sacrifices in the last 248 years to have a government where WE have some say. LOSE this election and you won’t believe the hell that will follow.
It is sad that a group of Republicans is fighting hard to save America, while our own people are fighting hard to defeat the candidat of true American patriots. Maybe we need this insight into the motivations of even our own politicians. I don’t know, but I do know the lesson could have waited.
