Interesting times on CNN this afternoon. Chris Christie was talking with Wolf Blitzer and he ripped Donald Trump a new one. He called him a “coward” attacked his record during his four years in office and said that Trump was too scared to debate and that’s why he attacks Christie on his “failed social media platform.” I think this is brilliant. Trump will go nuts when he hears this and the only road to take is to show up and debate Christy. You know Trump, he can’t ignore a taunt. This could be epic.

Christie does know Trump well. Telling Trump he owes an affirmative duty to show up and debate is a waste of breath. But telling Trump that he doesn’t have the guts to debate, will get him roaring onto the debate stage with steam coming out his nostrils. Jersey Boy knows how to handle bullies, good for him.
And Christie is right. Trump has been attacking him on his Truth Social platform. I had wondered what Christie was doing to encourage that and it may simply be the fact that he’s risen in the polls. Trump has an eye for a freak show, being one himself, and Christie has come from polling at 1% to polling at 11%, in a three way statistical tie with Ramaswamy and Haley.
A CNN-University of New Hampshire poll came out a few days ago and it had Christie at 11% with Ramaswamy and Haley within two points, and Ron DeSantis trailing at 10%, in the number 5 position. Only Tim Scott at 6% and Mike Pence at 2% were lower. Point being, Trump may see Christie as an actual threat, because Christie can put on a mouthy show as well as Trump can. Christie is the only contestant in this contest that can out-Trump Trump. Haley doesn’t have it in her, neither does Tim Scott. Ramaswamy is too busy kissing Trump’s ass, as is DeSantis. Forget about Pence, period. That leaves one man standing, Chris Christie, who can “do a Trump” and doing a Trump could maybe make him the MAGA successor.
Think about it. Trump may be going bye bye to the House Of Many Doors. Ron DeSantis lives in a dream world that he will inherit the MAGA base if and when that occurs. He’s deluded. What got Trump where he is, is his antisocial stance and his big ugly mouth. There is only one candidate who can even approach doing what Trump did in the insult department and that’s Christie.
Christie may end up being the inheritor to the MAGA throne. It sounds insane, yes, to me as well. But consider this: When DeSantis was the clear second place candidate, Trump went out of his way to trash him, calling him “Meatball” “DeSanctimonious” saying that but for Trump, he’d be “working in a pizza parlor.”
Nowadays, Trump isn’t saying much of anything about DeSantis. He’s leaving that to Laura Loomer. But he is trashing Christie. This is from yesterday.
Trump would not be attacking Christie if Christie didn’t make him nervous. And it’s his rise in the polls, from 1% to 11% that is making Trump nervous. That’s a significant rise. Mike Pence can’t do it. Ramaswamy was able to do it because he knows how to do sound bites and made a good showing at the first GOP debate. Haley is plugging along and people are taking her somewhat seriously. But Trump isn’t talking about any of them, he’s obsessing on Christie, his old BFF. That’s because Christie is out there trashing Trump and it’s working. Something is working.

Christie is the only candidate openly attacking Trump and people are listening. Christie would be a dark horse candidate, no question there, but it’s not impossible. You can’t rule it out. If 2016 taught us anything it’s that you can afford to rule out nothing. Take every possibility seriously.
This is an interesting development. My guess is that Trump won’t be able to resist the taunt of his former friend now enemy and he’ll show up on the debate stage. And he may lose MAGA right then and there.
McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme are submitting bids to host their debate.
No way should Christie be president, but I’m enjoying his run.
Should another news station get the boneheaded idea to do another Trump interview or pretend town hall, my proposed format would be like “The Masked Singer”. At the end the masked interviewer would be revealed to be 🎉Chris Christie!!!🎉👏👏👏
They could do a different one every week on pay per view with the proceeds going to the charity of the interviewee’s choice. The charity choice would tell us a lot about that candidate.

Tim.Scott was never gonna be the candidate. He is,Black. That alone disqualifies him.Trumptards are flat out racists. They will never support a PoC.
Haley is a,woman of color, and both of those disqualify her–they are misogynists as well as,racists. What’s His Name is,also not white enough.
That leaves Pence and Christie. Pence isn’t crazy enough. Christie is a New Jersey Mafioso, crooked, corrupt and vindictive (remember Bridgegate?) but much smarter and willing to compromise when necessary as he did after Sandy. He is loud, obnoxious, able to drive a,stake through an opponent’s heart campaign. He has a personality, unlike DeSaster, and you know exactly who and what you will get. And unlike Governor DeSaster, he is smart enough not to pick a fight with the 3d largest employer and largest corporate taxpayer in his state.
