Is there nobody of normal intelligence working for the Republican party these days? Because by any measure, this is a major screw up. In any normal business organization, heads would roll for this. Today, the GOP tweeted out 4th of July greetings, as did many folks. However, other people used an American flag in their reverie, if they used a flag at all, and not a flag of a different nation.

Maybe Ron DeSantis can hire the genius who did this after Ronna cans him or her. And if Ron DeSantis would ever get in the White House and eliminate the Department of Education, I don’t even want to think what we’ll be seeing next.

Uh Oh! Big Trouble at the RNC for using the wrong flag. Trump has probably been decorating the walls with ketchup over this one. No, not because it’s the Liberian Flag. But because being the cheap bastard he is he stole their flag and had his own, which he will decree as the new official U.S. Flag. Take a look at the flag they used. The Trump Flag they were SUPPOSED to use has a big gold T in the middle of that star!
That’s a good thought. What would a Trump flag look like? Maybe keep the blue and the stars of the American flag but make the red stripes orange. Ya think?
Remember the scene from Jurassic Park where they leave the jeep to get with the vet tending to a sick Stegosaurus and walk past a HUGE pile of dino “spoor” – and Jeff Goldbloom’s character (Malcom) stares in awe and says “That’s one big pile of sh*t”? I think a gold flag with that huge pile dung with a pic of Trump’s name in gold letters he likes on his buildings (say, Trump Tower) superimposed in it, or just the (fake of course) gold letters complete with smears of sh*t on them seems about right!
Just a historical note. For those that don’t know, Liberia was a colony of the United States that was set up in the 1820’s to repatriate freed slaves to Africa. Liberia Became an independent country in 1847. It was more or less a protectorate of the United States until about 1980, run by former mixed race people. Sending former slaves back to africa never really caught on for various reasons. So yes, they have a flag similar to the US flag

For what it’s worth, the graphic isn’t even the Liberian flag. If you look at the tweet showing the Liberian and US flags, both flags have six stripes below the blue canton, alternating white-red-white-red-white-red. The graphic, however, shows a red stripe immediately beneath the canton and only 5 alternating stripes. Then, when you look at the first “fold,” you see 8 alternating stripes with a mysteriously-added white stripe at the bottom, and then when you look at the back part covered by the fold, the “top” red stripe is only half the size of the other stripes. Both the US and Liberian flags have stripes of relatively equal widths (both flags officially post a 10:19 ratio which means the stripes are going to have really odd-sized widths; if a US flag is 10″ high, then each stripe is going to be 10/13 of an inch from top to bottom) but, unless someone’s just drawing a rough flag by hand, no stripe is supposed to look half the size of any other stripe.
But, yeah. You’d think the folks who claim to hold exclusive rights to “patriotism” and “America first” would have the ability to present a flag that looks more like the actual US flag than the one used. (Then again, as the one tweet shows, it looks like someone just put it together in a hurry using another website’s simple template.)
It was a rush job that somebody put together. There’s no excuse for haste or thoughtlessness. But it doesn’t surprise me that the GOP would have somebody of that caliber working for them, all other things considered.
