‘You Better Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself’ Hakeem Lashes Out At Byron Donalds Over Jim Crow

Ah, another beautiful MAGA morning when a Republican gets caught out in a stupid statement and then denies it. I don’t understand Black Republicans. To me that’s like being a chicken for Colonel Sanders, and I feel the same way about Latino Republicans and female Republicans. But they do find a reason to be there. If you missed this morning’s explosion, Rep. Byron Donalds opined that Black Americans were better off under Jim Crow.

The party of family values believes that families, Black ones at least were better off in the era of Jim Crow — when you could get lynched for looking the wrong way at a white person. Uh, huh. Needless to say, this comment went viral and then Hakeem Jeffries kicked in his two cents while a very angry Byron Donald’s vented his spleen at Joe Biden for “lying.” Um…Byron? Why don’t you see who actually got over 30,000 Pinocchios from the Washington Post by the beginning of his fourth year in office and it ain’t Joe.

So now wait a minute: Black families were just fine until the so-called welfare state came along. Is that Mitten’s 47% welfare state? Just asking. And now we’re seeing a “reinvigoration” of the Black family and that is due to what, exactly? Trump and MAGA?

Tim and Byron just can’t tap dance too much for Massa Donald. Forget about being VP, Byron. If he’s going to pick anybody in Florida, it will be Little Marco. Although who knows? Trump does have a habit of making decisions about things based on the last person he talked to. And he may like this Angry Black Man routine. Particularly if it’s being channeled for him and not against him like when he was denying POCs housing in New York and persecuting the Central Park Five.

So there may be a shot for Donal’s if his timing is right. The smart money right now is saying that Trump is so gawdawful broke that Doug Bergum is looking better and better all the time. Follow the money is a bedrock principal of politics. If Bergum can bail Trump out, that may be the direction he’ll go.

Plus, Trump can frame Bergum as “old school” Republican, for whatever good that does at this point. Bottom line: Until the GOP cuts Trump loose and rebuilds, there is no old school, new school, after school, nothing. They need to hit bottom, cut Trump loose, and begin recovery. There is no other way.

Or, an entirely new party needs to form, NeoConservative something and then there will be three parties, Dems, MAGA, and whatever the GOP shiftshapes into. MAGA will collapse of its own weight once Trump dies or stops grifting, whichever comes first. I believe he’ll grift as long as he’s got a breath left in his body. That’s the very essence of his being, is to con. He cons like you and I breathe.
