Oh, my goodness gracious, more idiots coming out of the woodwork. This one is ridiculously, obviously wrong. It ranks right up there with something MTG said at one point. What is this person thinking? Half a brain would be a good idea. Any brain would be a good idea. Apparently, a brain does not belong to this person. Indebtedness to Raw Story:

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) left critics dumbfounded on Friday after suggesting that James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for Senate from Texas, would engage in religious child sacrifice. The official social media account on X for the Democratic Party promoted Talarico’s candidacy this week with a simple message: “James Talarico is the only candidate who will put you first.” Lee, known for his controversial online remarks, issued a response just hours later. James Talarico will put you firstOn the altar to Moloch,” Lee wrote, referencing the ancient figure of Moloch mentioned in the Hebrew Bible and associated with child sacrifice.

DUDE. What the hell is WRONG with him? Where did he dig up this information? This is absolutely disgusting. Seriously, now. Even after reading it multiple times, there is no way to understand this. It’s as bad as that whole mess with something under a pizza place that had no basement, or the BS in Ohio. That last one is a trigger point, so moving right along here, this guy is nuts. He has to be because it makes absolutely NO sense.

Lee’s social media post also included an animated image depicting a child being sacrificed to an ancient deity — a post that left several onlookers appalled. //// “Nothing to see here, just a Republican Senator accusing a Democratic Senate candidate of child sacrifice,” wrote journalist and former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan on Friday. “But, hey, don’t you dare criticize [President Donald] Trump as that could lead to political violence.”

Good grief. What is going on in this guy’s head to come up with this sort of crap? Not only what the post was, but also including an animated scene? And then a perfect comment about accusations and “don’t criticize Trump” was hitting the nail on the head. It’s a good thing that people had responses since mine are limited by still being stunned by Lee’s behavior.

Catherine Young, a staff writer for The Bulwark and columnist for Newsday, also flagged what she characterized as Lee’s hypocrisy given the GOP’s increasingly frequent condemnation of “inflammatory rhetoric” as a cause for political violence. “I thought demonizing (literally!) political opponents was bad and incites violence?” Young asked in a social media post on X to her more than 70,000 followers.

There were other comments not included due to length. One of them pointed out that Lee never speaks to the press, so he can’t be called on the carpet for his lunacy. So, it seems he likes to hide behind Xitter just so the press can’t catch him. Is he like this in Congress? Will he dodge the press if running for re-election? What is this madness?

See you soon!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
