Well, damn. The one person I have any respect for in Trump’s cabinet is having medical issues. Putting up with Trump is a different medical issue. Right? But this is one of the things, as many are, that show up out of nowhere and make your life hell. And no matter how much we may detest someone and make snarky comments, this is no laughing matter. With gratitude to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump revealed on social media Monday that Susie Wiles, his White House chief of staff, was diagnosed with breast cancer, and that she would be starting treatment “immediately” while remaining at the White House “virtually full time.” “Susie Wiles is an incredible Chief of Staff, a great person, and one of the strongest people I know, but unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, and has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
Yup. I don’t wish cancer on anyone. And breast cancer is rough on a lady because a lot of our identity results from those, whether or not we want to admit it. They probably won’t tell us what methods they are using to fight it, but all of them are rough, too. Enough people I’ve known have told me about them. You do what you have to.
“She has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent! During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy!” Wiles made headlines last year for her surprisingly candid interview with Vanity Fair in which she described Trump as having an “alcoholic’s personality,” and Vice President JD Vance as a “conspiracy theorist.”
Let’s hope she has the same, or close to, medical team as Trump. We know those folks are top of the line. She deserves that level of care after putting up with Doofus Donnie all this time. She knows how to handle him, and we don’t want to lose the one sane person in the administration. She definitely has Dingbat Donnie and J(usta) D(umbass) down to a T.
Nevertheless, Trump has stood by his top White House official and vowed to stand alongside her as she undergoes treatment. “Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her,” Trump wrote. “Susie, as one of my closest and most important advisors, is tough and deeply committed to serving the American People. She will soon be better than ever! Melania and I are with her in every way, and we look forward to working with Susie on the many big and wonderful things that are happening for the benefit of our Country!
For what it’s worth, I’m pulling for her. I really hope she comes through this well. This may not exactly be a political piece. Still, I had something to say and felt it was worth sharing. Cancer sucks. Period.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
