This is insane. If you go over to Twitter right now there’s a fervor happening. MAGA is accusing “left-wing extremists” of all manner of misbehavior, and of course, as you clearly see, Congressman Mike Lee (R-GA-10) is accusing our sitting president of having given assassination orders to kill Donald Trump. Now the sublime irony is that as long as Joe Biden can get this characterized as an “official act” it is Seal Team 6 time and this would be perfectly legal — if it was real.

So what is real, right now? Supposedly a shooter was on the roof, a witness reported that fact and was “ignored.” This is from a BBC report. Look at the following and a journalist in the tweet below the video gives a good warning: you’re getting this information on Twitter. Take “news” on Twitter with a pound of salt. Remember who owns the platform. That said, I will screen everything to the best of my ability and give only information here which appears to be credible, along with all the basic caveats.

Again, I don’t know who’s who or what’s what. I can tell you that the latest update from the Washington Post is that Trump “says that a bullet hit his ear.” It grazed his ear. If it was a bullet at all and not a squib and this isn’t all a concocted fantasy.

I am not a conspiracy theorist but I would like somebody with forensics knowledge, if we have anybody like that here, to tell me how a bullet could graze Trump’s ear and draw a few neat lines on his face, like a Sharpie. I mean, this is Magic Bullet Two.

The rest of this nonsense, this accusing Joe Biden of ordering a hit, is absolutely disgusting and uncalled for and Mike Collins should be kicked out of Congress for this, as far as I am concerned.

But you have to admit, and isn’t it an interesting coincidence, that on Monday, Trump will stroll into the convention in Milwaukee as a hero and a martyr. Isn’t that convenient?

And I’m just going to go ahead and give you a conspiracy theory supposition. What if:

  1. This is all fake blood, like in the movies?
  2. What if the dead guy on the roof was told all he had to do was fire a shot or two and he could leave?
  3. What if the dead guy believed whomever said that and got killed actually helping Trump stage something phony and he didn’t know it?
  4. If the guy on the roof provided “cover” for squibs going off and Trump’s big dramatic scene, then certainly that endorses an “assassination attempt.”
  5. Where’s the shell casing? Or the bullet? It hit Trump, right?
  6. What caliber of bullet hit Trump? Only one?
  7. What range was the bullet fired at?
  8. I heard a number of pops. Were they all from the same gun?

The fact that this has even happened tonight and we’re discussing it, is horrible. I mean horr-ible. America is being played. Although I don’t know if anybody is going to vote for Trump out of sympathy.

If this is something that is legitimate on its face and the shooter did go there to kill Trump, that only proves two things conclusively:

  1. How hated Trump is;
  2. How the Secret Service needs to do a better job of policing the area.

Stay tuned. Things are not likely to get saner.

  2. I find it very hard to believe that the Secret Service didn’t have an agent posted on the roof of a building which has a supposed clear firing range to the venue.

      The shooter has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa.

      The 20 year old white male was a registered Republican since 2021.

      The weapon. Used was an AR-15 style rifle.

      Crooks was killed by Secret Service agents.

  4. I have so many thoughts at the moment. I’m sure more will occur to me in the hours and days ahead but in no particular order here goes:

    I still want to see more video and images (repeated – I doubt there’s more than what I’ve seen in the last hour) but I’m pretty sure the blood (whether real or from a movie style “squib”) on Trump’s face is smeared from touching his ear and then his face. He did NOT also get “nicked” or “grazed” in the face.

    I wonder why no one is showing a diagram of the bullet’s vector (direction) towards Trump? It’s been hours and a simple diagram is something even I with my limited computer graphics skills could create. A diagram showing the stage, and a line between Trump and the shooter as well as where others who were struck by shots (since someone was killed at least one real shot was fired) and the distance from where the shooter fired.

    A question that’s sure to spark plenty of CT – how the HELL did the Secret Service not have a person on that roof. Not just a state or local LE but a Secret Service agent? That’s standard practice so why the hell wasn’t protocol followed? Maybe Trump should let the Secret Service bosses in DC pick his team instead of having agents who are MAGAs. Just a thought.

    If Trump was grazed on the ear by a bullet just so you all know head wounds including the ears bleed. A LOT.

    In his statement Trump said the bullet “went through his ear” but I don’t buy it. I think you’d be able to see either the hole or a missing piece of ear in the photos. It grazed him. Also, if it had passed through his ear remember ears are mostly cartilage. A bullet passing through at high velocity would provide enough static shock to at least visibly jerk his head. So I don’t buy the “passed through my ear” statement.

    This happened in PA so there’s been enough time to test the rifle the apparent shooter used, and even to recover a round or two that hit others as well as (probably) find the bullet that grazed Trump. Chances are it passed through the platform he was on and if it didn’t hit anyone else I’m sure they could have gotten their hands on a metal detector and found it in the ground under the stage. Of course, it would be damaged and if the platform was metal or the surface underneath was pavement or concrete if found that particular bullet might be too mangled to match to the weapon.

    How quickly did the Secret Service/LE identify where the shooter was, and given the angle how were they able to kill him? Was he on a suicide mission and left himself exposed with his head and a shoulder up high enough for him to be shot and killed? Again, that makes for all manner of CT stuff.

    I’ll dive into a little CT of my own. The first rule of political assassinations is to kill the assassin(s) as quickly as possible. If the shooter was far enough away to be a quality sniper he damned well would have known that. So he was either on a suicide mission, or perhaps was only ordered to shoot a couple of people near Trump – and Trump’s wound was actually fake. A squib that would pop when he pressed his ear. The point is, look at that low height building. And then look behind it. The shooter, believing he was just going to kill a person or two near Trump and then slide back out of sight (again, why no Secret Service/LE presence on that building), make his way down to the ground floor (would have taken seconds) and disappeared into those woods. Maybe with a mountain bike so he could get well away and do so quietly. But maybe he got played for a sucker and was going to be killed to cover up the whole stunt.

    Just so readers know, I actually know stuff about this kind of thing. I wouldn’t call myself an expert but I know more than the average person. I worked in a small town funeral home and saw people who’d been shot. I was a Marine Infantryman and a helluva shot myself. I also get sent to DC on temporary duty and wound up attached permanently to the Provost Marshal’s Office (the MPs) there. I was on some special details I can’t go into. But I got to interact with some of the folks who protect VIPs, and one of my cohorts served as an MP with the Marine One squadron over at Anacostia before coming to us. So again, while there’s a lot I don’t know I do know some.

    I’m sure I’ll think of more questions and form more thoughts as I’ve already said. But Ursula got in touch and asked me to weigh in tonight so that’s what I’m doing.

    I just saw (it was only on the screen briefly) a diagram such as I said I wanted to see. The distance was 148 yards. Not a difficult shot, even for someone who’s never been in the military but has hunted deer or shot varmints with a high powered .22. Especially with a dialed in rifle scope for that distance (150 yards give or take a few yards when sighting in) and it’s something that with less than an hour’s practice (it’s been ten years since I last hunted) I could do it with “iron sights.”

    It again makes me wonder. Watching the video the gal who said Trump turned his head at exactly the right instant to avoid something far worse is full of shit. He was facing towards the shooter with little head movement during the time it takes for a proper trigger squeeze. Either the guy was a bad shot to only nick him, or an outstanding one who was confident enough to know the worst he do is a bit of damage to Trump’s ear. It remains to be seen what this guy’s background was. Or one last bit of CT. What if he wasn’t the only one on the roof? One Special Forces level trained guy (Erik Prince could rustle up one in a hearbeat) to take the “ear shot” and another to pop off a couple more rounds into the crowd? Prince’s guy would have been in a position to slip away as the other guy got killed by LE.

    I do want to add one last thing. Trump simply would not have the courage to allow himself to be “grazed” or nicked by a bullet. No fucking way. I think he’d be scared as hell to even have bullets flying near him even from one of Prince’s guys. He MIGHT have agreed to that but it’s also possible someone in his orbit set it all up if it was indeed a stunt. He is I think more desperate than we might think despite Democrats working to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory so who knows?

  7. It is frustrating to see the effect of all those millions of military style weapons giving young people a false sense of power and WHY NOT KILL SOMEONE? The question remains, “How and why are these killing designed weapons even sold any more?

    WHO gets all the most money from sales of these expensive weapons?

    These are short barrel rifles, the swat and military aces that are our finest crack shots, shoot a heavier bullet with horrendous amounts of powder behind 50 caliber bullets, they adjust for bullet fall, wind problems … They shoot to kill, not just wound, so a bullet just behind an ear would drop a felon dead before hitting the ground …

    If the guy on the roof did not know to shoot higher to account for bullet drop or have practiced at that range for awhile, he could have exploded a teleprompter reflector, but we all saw Trump was looking to his right as something hit his ear … so one of the Denis pictures could show the tele prompter on his right side could have delivered broken glass across his right ear …

  8. President Biden is already being blamed, though we know he would never do such a thing. He could legally declare the ORANGE CONVICTED FELON a threat to national security, and order him assassinated (according to the latest SCROTUS decision), but of course will not.

  9. I have dealt with Secret Service in 1972 when we hosted a party for the opening of the Michigan office when Ford was Veep. The office next door had a,door that made it impossible for them to.exit because the agent and I had to check off names. They took down the name of everyone I. that office and ran background checks. In the lobby, there was a guy in front of the elevator. My date said there was another one in.a French coat and fedora talking g to his wrist watch and hiding behind a potted plant a la Dick Tracy.. That day they actually checked out the two silk plants.

    I want to know :
    1)Why wasn’t everyone entering that building going through a metal.dictator and why no background checks on all the employees
    2)How did he just amble on in with an AR15, which isn’t so.etching you can hide in an u tucked shirt
    3),why wasn’t there a Secret Service agent on that roof or at least clearing it and the building
    4) how sure are they it was a bullet and not flying g glass. Where is the bullet. casing

    The Secret Service screwed up.big time. A really sloppy job. Heads should be rolling
