A few days ago I wrote an article in which I extolled President Biden’s performance at a rally in Maryland to brand the GOP. He never used the words the Republican party once in his speech. Instead he constantly referred to it as the MAGA GOP, or the MAGA Republican party. Biden was making a clear reference to the fact that Your father’s Republican party no longer exists.
And the rest of the Democratic party is slowly picking up on this, as well they should. After all, let’s never forget the fact that the GOP got out in front of the Democrats in the initial rollout of the Affordable Care Act, and successfully morphed that into Death Panels For Granny!, which led to the Tea Party Revolt of 2010. Messaging is king in politics.
But here’s why this branding is so important. Because Biden isn’t speaking to the brain dead Trombies out there. Who Biden is talking to is the more moderate, or wishy-washy GOP base, along with independents that voted for Trump in 2016 because they voted for change. But because he was the GOP candidate, they looked at him as a Republican.
What Biden is doing is to provide these softer, more traditional Republicans with an off ramp. He is telling them that it is OK to cross over and vote Democratic because there is no longer a traditional Republican party, It is now the MAGA GOP. He is tarring the entire GOP with the Trump brush. Never a bad move.
And the GOP and Trump are only helping the Democrats. The GOP is pushing out an entire slate of brain dead Trombies for the election in November. And Biden has the chops to make his point. He can point to the bipartisan infrastructure bill, the Chips Act, the Burn Pit Bill, all as evidence of his ability to work across the aisle with sane Republicans, and make life better for the American people.
I can’t remember the last time I could honestly say this, but the GOP, normally so monolithic, is struggling for a coherent message. They spent 50 years running on overturning Roe v Wade, and now they’ve done it, and it’s a political disaster for them. McConnell and McCarthy wanted to run on gas prices and inflation, but now both are coming down, and their culture wears aren’t catching hold.
My advice to the Democrats? Keep running the race. Keep branding the GOP as the MAGA GOP, and offer a stark contrast to your accomplishments. If the GOP has no message, then keep pounding the shit out of yours!

Call me crazy, but I just can’t see any senior or anyone approaching retirement to say, “ Great idea!!!……they have my vote!”
Between this and the Roe issue, it’s almost like they WANT to lose.
Or, they know they have the state legislatures in their pockets to overturn elections not going their way.

If the case was ‘I have the state legislature’, why switch to ‘I’m taking your SS?’ if you believed the election was yours, irregardless, I think they’d just stick with what they know and just keep with the ‘they want to abort babies 2 months after their born.’ And ‘the only abortions occurring are women ‘getting rid’ of the consequences of their ‘behavior’ misogyny. You know, the toxic masculinity crap that paints them as fellow pathologically insecure and crippled by feelings of inadequacy dolts to their peers and of course, the biggest pathologically insecure, crippled by feelings of inadequacy loon that, apparently, is decompensating as we speak given his demand that the 2020 election be ‘redone’. AND NOW! But what do I know. I STILL can’t wrap my head around how anyone, for any reason would think Trump is anything But an inept, moronic crybaby.

Scott Jackson, I’m alone and I can’t stop laughing out loud. Actually, I’m trying to picture the act of doing that. I can’t. But in commenting to a vet with a “colourful” expression, I still say Rocky Bleier’s Vietnam battalion’s motto is the best: “Eat shit! 120 million flies can’t ALL be wrong!”
Although I promise to figure out the dynamics of this “flying fuck; rolling donut ” thing.
