There are still days when the world surprises me. I found this interesting article on RS, of course, and my eyebrows tried to climb off my forehead in surprise. Someone outside the US is warning us about Trump’s machinations. It may astonish you, too! Props to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump has faced repeated accusations of market manipulation amid his administration’s ongoing war against Iran, but on Sunday, a new critic emerged, and one whose observations stunned onlookers. Trump has made a number of well-timed social media posts regarding updates on the Iran war that have significantly shifted markets. Coupled with reports of “mysterious trading patterns,” critics have increasingly alleged Trump to be “using the war” to enrich his inner circle.
Now, isn’t that interesting? Since I’m not on social media, I don’t have a good way to go back and really *look* at numbers and trends. But this could very well be true. It wouldn’t surprise any of us, that’s for sure. Dumdum Donnie will do anything to grift more money into his pockets and do his oligarchs a favor, too. Then they’ll owe him, and you’ll never know when that return check is due.
On Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf jumped into the discourse surrounding Trump and alleged market manipulation, only with a piece of financial advice for Americans. “Heads-up: Pre-market so-called ‘news’ or ‘Truth’ is often just a setup for profit-taking. Basically, it’s a reverse indicator,” Ghalibaf wrote Sunday in a social media post on X. “Do the opposite: If they pump it, short it. If they dump it, go long. See something tomorrow? You know the drill.”
How about dem apples??!! Someone from Iran is giving Americans financial advice about our ‘president’ and the stock market. That’s stunning. And shocking, too, now that I think about it. Someone outside the US is *definitely* watching Dingbat Donnie grift. Heh, and we think we’re alone getting screwed by the gazillionaires. Well, Speaker Ghalibaf can see what’s going on *very* clearly, even though he doesn’t appear to be getting messed up like us. He did the country the courtesy of calling it out instead of sitting back and laughing. That’s really something.
That the U.S. war against Iran had devolved to the point where a senior Iranian official was not only calling Trump out on alleged market manipulation, but offering financial advice to Americans, left many observers floored. “Iranians going after Trump’s market manipulation is probably more effective than going after THAAD batteries,” wrote economist and author Saifedean Ammous Sunday in a social media post on X to their more than 418,000 followers. Oil market researcher Rory Johnston described Ghalibaf’s remarks as “unreal” in a social media post to their more than 83,000 followers, and Edward Dowd, a financial analyst, called them “surreal.”
I know I’ve used it already today, and I’m trying to find a new one, but here we go … gee, ya THINK? I’m pretty sure my eyebrows have left my face and gone to find the Speaker because they want to compliment him. Now *that* is, well, astonishment. I’ve finally picked my jaw up off the floor. Kudos to him for saying all the quiet parts out loud.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

It’s not just ” Someone from Iran is giving Americans financial advice “, it’s that it’s entirely accurate and more truthful than POTUS.
I think my focus is too narrow when I’m writing. You are absolutely correct, and I missed it.
I despise these homicidal monsters, but NEVER did I say in any way, or even intimate, they are stupid. They are most definitely NOT stupid! Evil? Absolutely! But NOT stupid. Now, if folks here wanna see for themselves what Ghalibaf is referring to, go to https://finance.yahoo.com/ and at the top-left (usually) click on “S&P 500” and you can then follow and track it and “Truth” Social in real time. Minute by Minute or day by day or week by week. It speaks for itself.
Oh, and by the way, I assume you understood most of his advice, but “go long” means “buy the stock or the index”
I know you didn’t say so. That wasn’t at question. Their actions thus far have been *very* smart, especially considering what Disaster Donnie has done *wrong*, like starting a war in the first place, with apparently no preparation. This could and should have been planned *so* much better.
I didn’t actually understand go long, but from what you said, I had guessed correctly. Go me….
