It’s a good thing to see what the bookies are thinking and how the bets are being placed. That information provides how people view a given issue and Trump is polling surprisingly high. There’s a good reason for that. A lot of people who bet bet on Trump, and that’s because he’s stunned America with two successful presidential campaigns. That’s the main reason that he’s polling as high as he is, although there are others. The other reasons include people who hit the Nobel list a while back in a white hot fever, but then things cooled down after a period, whereas Trump has never stopped talking about the Nobel Prize. That, I believe, is the main reason he’s polling as high as he is.
Surely the Nobel Committee cannot be insane enough to award that honor to a man that is a demented warmonger who is fomenting war in America, rather than solving any wars across the globe. It’s a running joke about him ending the war in Ukraine in one day. Hillary Clinton has said that she’ll nominate Trump for the prize herself, if he can end the war in Ukraine, even eight months later. I am assuming that the voting has already taken place but hey, if Trump can convince Putin to a settlement agreement this very day, who knows what could happen? I think that next year’s Nobel Peace Prize would be locked up, for sure, and I would be all for Trump winning it if he could end the war in Ukraine today. That said, don’t hold your breath.
What you need to bear in mind if that Trump for some cockeyed reason does get the Nobel Peace Prize, he will use it as a reason to escalate the military presence in American cities. It would go to his head and he would feel empowered to do whatever he wants, martial law, you name it, all in the name of “peace.” Remember what Orwell said, “War Is Peace.” You could see it happen if the Nobel Committee does something stupid.

I find it frankly amazing that Trump is even in second place, when he’s done nothing but move his jaws about peace and done not one thing to secure an actual peace. But then again, Trump’s success has always been a complete mystery to me. And why should the Nobel committee people be any different?
Let’s just hope that Trump does in fact stay in second place. The difference between him and the other people on this list is that they have put themselves on the line to make social changes and help people or the planet as a whole and Trump’s devotion has been grift-oriented, first last and always.

Don’t forget the war he’s waging on immigrants, especially persons of color.
There is no way Trump can persuade Putin to end the war. Simply because he’s Trump (rhymes with “chump,” as far as Putin is concerned). But on top of everything else, if Putin thought Trump would win the Nobel Peace Prize for that feat, the chances of him agreeing are far less than zero.
I can’t think of anything that would discredit the Nobel committee more. If I had one I’d throw it in the trash immediately.
