It’s an apocryphal tale that when Rudy Giuliani dated his last wife, after dinner on their first date they sat through both Godfather I and Godfather II. This makes a great deal of sense now. Whomever Mayor Giuliani may have been at one time, at this point in history, the year 2022, he’s a cheap hood. And he’s been nothing but a cheap hood and Donald Trump’s bag man for some time now. History will remember him as such, just as history will remember Trump as a flaming idiot. Those are the two takeaways from today’s January 6 Committee hearing, the fourth in a proposed series of eight.
Giuliani, more than any other player in this tragicomedy that is the attempted coup d’etat of the United States by Trump, is a complete liar and fabricator. He spins untruths out of thin air.
His attempt to steal the vote in Arizona was particularly comical. Rudy told the Republican Speaker of the Arizona House that he had all kinds of evidence. Problem is, it’s invisible or it evaporated or something, because the guy never got it.

Pure, unadulterated farce. And again.
Giuliani et al legal exposure increases:
Giuliani: “We've got lots of theories, we just don’t have the evidence.”
Note-1: "We."
Note-2: Mr. Bowers also references at least three witnesses on his side of the phone call who had the same understanding of this statement. https://t.co/CJPZ0zoXPk

Then Bowers compares Trump’s bagmen, John Eastman and Rudy Giuliani, to the “Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight.”

There are a lot more clips and if you missed the hearing, live, you can go over to Aaron Rupar’s feed on Twitter and get the substance of it.
Bowers ended his testimony talking about the harassment he and his family received. This was the central theme of today’s hearings, how state officials and election workers, merely doing their jobs and honoring their oaths were vilified and condemned by Trump’s extremist thugs.

Here is Rudy setting up a Georgia elections worker and her mother for harassment. This is Rudy as pure mob punk.
Schiff is now questioning Wandrea Moss, the Georgia elections worker who Rudy GIuliani falsely accused of election fraud during a Georgia Senate hearing on December 10, 2020. Here's the clip of Giuliani lying about her. pic.twitter.com/kyrYCQQcVj

Ms. Moss and her mother go on to document how their lives have been ruined by this. Remember, these are ordinary people. They are not people who live in high rises with security guards and have press agents and lawyers standing between them and an angry mob. These people are vulnerable. And Trump and Giuliani had zero problem victimizing these people.

This is unconscionable. Giuliani belongs in prison for doing this to these people. Eastman, Trump, all of them belong in prison. Whether any of them get there or not is a different matter. That said, we’re far from done with this process.
The hearing ended with Liz Cheney teasing an appearance by White House counsel Pat Cipillone. That ought to be something.
Bowers is still not a good guy. He’s fine with voter suppression and gerrymandering; he just drew the line at fake electors.
