He actually did something Democratic instead of conservative.
John Fetterman has surprised me. I’ve been very disturbed that he has been acting more like a Republican than a Democrat for a while now. I’m sorry that I donated to his campaign to beat out Dr. Oz (who would have been worse). But he has redeemed himself and I’m pleased to see it.
When speaking to The Hill, he blasted Elon Musk and DOG-e for trying to access an IRS system that they have no business being in. They’re trying for the IDRS, the Integrated Data Retrieval System. This contains personal information they do not need and should not have. I don’t want their sticky little hands on my personal information, including my Social Security number and my banking (!!!!!) information, and I expect you don’t either. What possible reason would they have for being in that? And with their unprotected server, easily open to hacking, as we’ve shown, it would be a Darknet field day for hackers to grab everyone’s information and steal from them, or make fake accounts and grab their identities. Oh, HELL no.
They also have no right to send that information back to another part of the federal government. They could be breaking the law if they do so. Well, breaking the law does not concern Muskrat, as we’ve already seen. So, I just found more on this on CNN. The system is designed to prevent taxpayers’ information from getting into the wrong hands, and from unauthorized IRS agents making changes to taxpayers’ data. This is just getting worse and worse the more I find. This is NOT a way to cut “waste”, “fraud” and “abuse”.
Supposedly the person they want to put in, Gavin Kliger, has the proper security clearance and is expected to sign an agreement requiring he maintains confidentiality and will destroy any materials he has upon leaving the IRS. That doesn’t make me feel any better. I don’t want him in there at all and especially not for 120 days. This is not a way to cut waste. Taxpayers deserve their refunds. Taxpayers deserve to feel confident about their personal information. Taxpayers deserve to NOT have DOG-e’s sticky little fingers in their information.
I don’t see this as being, in any way, a reason for this person to have access. No matter his security clearance, and how did he get one so fast (??!!), nor any agreements he has to sign. What’s to prevent him from lying, even if the punishment for improper use of the IDRS includes termination, which wouldn’t happen, a fine, or a prison sentence? Not a damn thing. He has to be caught first.
On the other hand, I’m proud of Congressman Fetterman for calling this out. He’s restored a little of my faith in him, that I had thought was misplaced, when I’ve seen some of the other things he’s done. He’s still better than Dr. Oz. And thank heavens it’s not Oz. I wouldn’t have ever expected Mr. Fetterman to do this. Thank you, sir.

Uh, minor nitpick, Susan. Fetterman’s a SENATOR so your pride should be towards Senator Fetterman, not “Congressman” (that title is generally applied to members of the House–yes, the Senate is part of Congress but members of the Senate are normally designated as “Senator”).

This is NOT a nit pick, it’s 1000 words of pure white-hot rage from a VERY deep and monumentally raw wound. Susan, what exactly has senator Fetterman done to make you think he’s a closet republican? Is it because he actually THINKS and doesn’t just fall in line like all the other lemmings behind AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and the other Nazi Jew haters of the party once known as the Democratic Party? Is it because he calls out in no uncertain terms their utter hypocrisy when they yell from the rooftops, “believe women: rape is rape: me too” UNLESS of course it’s a Jewish woman in which case it’s NOT rape, it’s “resistance”. Is it because he doesn’t say “oh c’mon this never happened, it’s just “Zionazi” propaganda. Or is it because he will call out REAL genocides like the Chinese wiping out BOTH the Uigyur and the Tibetan cultures and people? Where’s the chorus acknowledging that one, count ’em ONE democrat actually has a moral compass that doesn’t begin, end and middle with Jew-hate, Jew-blaming and Jew-targeting??? How dare he waste time criticising China for REAL and demonstrable acts of planned genocide implemented over decades, modeled after Canadian and American residential schools whose ONLY PURPOSE was to wipe out the native Indian nations of Canada and the USA, when doing so doesn’t target Jews?! Let me teach you two Democratic Party phrases: “Social Justice” means let’s well up anger at Jews or any particular Jew, for doing something, anything, that we can criticize for any reason we make up. “International Law” means the Chinese can wipe out any race they want, Bashar Assad can kill 800,000 Syrians, The Houthis can murder 250,000 of their countrymen, but if a Jew in Israel wants a municipal zoning change to add 6 inches to his back deck, it is a crime under International Law that South Africa and Ireland should bring to the ICC because that addition will deprive some poor long-suffering Palestinian of 4’ of grass on “his” lawn. Specifically, “International Law” is a phrase of the global left that means that no one and no country can do anything wrong regardless of consequences to others, but if a Jew or Israeli does anything that ANYONE complains about, it is BY DEFINITION “ a crime under International Law”. THAT is the definition of this term.
