This is one of those moments where you don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Donald Trump had a ridiculous rally in New Hampshire earlier today wherein he declared himself a great fan of election denialism — and on a split screen was a picture of Mike Lindell hawking MyPillows.
Trump also said that Viktor Orban had a solution for this country (and that part we don’t doubt) and that that is to tell Barack Obama to resign so that Trump can take over again as president. Obviously, Obama has not been in power since the morning of January 20, 2017 but this fact seems to have escaped Trump. And maybe, in literal truth, it has escaped him. The man could actually be having a mental breakdown in real time. That’s alarming enough but even more alarming is the fact that Trump says these outrageous things and nobody in his MAGA cult reacts. They just take it all in. Trump could come out and say that he was Jesus Christ and about to walk on the water, and they would gather at the nearest lake or beachfront and wait for it to happen. Take a look at this mess.

My favorite part is when he says, “They don’t know what to do,” referring to the prosecution and the judge. No, Donald, they know precisely what to do, down to each black letter of the law. They have it completely wired. It’s YOU who don’t know what to do!
And did you love this pre-school version of the facts and the law presented by Trump while over on the right hand side of the screen is Mike Huckabee’s home-schooling text on “what President Trump did for America?” Did to America is more like it. America has been grabbed by the pussy and violated every which way to Sunday. Our senses have been assaulted, our State Department was dismantled while we were disgraced on the world stage, our White House was defiled, our institutions and our norms were all sent spiraling backwards. It’s going to take us a lot of time, collectively, as a nation, to get normalized again.
Having Joe Biden in the White House is an immense help towards healing and sanity. Now if we can just keep him there. That’s Step Two. Step One is to see Trump held accountable legally. That is the key. Even in the New York Times/Sienna poll which happened last week, which was seized on by right-wing media as the harbinger of a second Trump term, those polled stated that IF Trump was convicted or found civilly liable (or both) in one or more of his cases, that people who intended to vote for him would change their vote and not vote for him.
This charade is hopefully coming to an end. Although, like all things Trumpian, it will get worse before it gets better. Michael Cohen, when first called to testify before Congress, clearly stated that if Trump lost in 2020 he would not allow for a peaceful transfer of power, but attempt to stay in power. That’s exactly what took place.
Trump is very easy to read. He’s getting more and more like a cornered rat these days and make no mistake, if he feels that he’s losing control of the cult, he may call for some radical behavior on the part of MAGA. It could be another riot in the Capitol, or perhaps in many cities, or who knows what form it will take? Anything is possible.
The man is becoming progressively more unhinged as time goes by.
Since you’re already here, this is Trump’s big Saturday night out with the guys. He’s at the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) with Tucker Carlson, Kid Rock and others. I’m sure you’ve heard the insane rumor that Trump might ask Carlson to be his VP candidate. I don’t doubt that he would. I merely wonder if Carlson is crazy enough to expose himself to that kind of negative press. My instinct is no, but who knows? Maybe Carlson will decide that it’s a real lark and go for it.

If you looked closely at Trump entering, he brought Walt Nauta with him. Nauta is constantly with Trump. I wonder if he even accompanies Trump to the rest room, seriously. And maybe he does. After all, Caligula was assassinated in the Roman Coliseum while leaving his seat to relieve himself. While I’m sure Trump never heard of Caligula, he has enough survival instincts to know that he shouldn’t ever be too alone and he probably trusts Nauta more than he does his own Secret Service agents.
Sad isn’t it. Not! What’s that biblical instruction about not idolising false gods. The enablers and adorers of this substance addled blasphemous prick will come to have their day on bended knee. Not because of who they think they idolise, but because of what they have come to realise they’e been conned into idolising . He’s a forgetful, paranoid, angry, shallow, hollow, illiterate, dementing, dissociated, transactional POS, who ongoing stiffs his ‘fan club’ for money, with no reciprocal thanks, love or gratitude.
The Donald doesn’t quite seem to get it that he has already been found ‘guilty’.
What is happening now is the judge is hearing witnesses in order to determine just how much he will have to pay in penalties.
Even if “Obama” were to resign, the job of President doesn’t just revert to the previous occupant: It goes to the Vice-President. Automatically. By Constitutional dictate. (Anyway, if the job did revert to the previous occupant following the President’s resignation, we’d get Dubya back in the White House. And I’d even take Dubya in the White House before Trump.)
