This is a hoot. Several months ago I wrote about a story where Traitor Tot wanted to hold a campaign rally in a city in South Dakota. He started touting the rally and taking online applications for tickets to the event.
And then the wheels fell off of yet another Trump Clown Car. It turned out that His Lowness already owed the city some $70,000 from a previous rally years ago that the campaign stiffed them on, and now the city was demanding their 70,000 simoleons, as well as a hefty deposit before they’d issue the permits for the new rally. Trump screamed, but the rally ended up being cancelled.
Well, it just happened again. Earlier tonight Traitor Tot held a rally in Tucson, Arizona, where once again the dipsh*t brought up Illegal Haitian immigrants eating pet cats and dogs. But the funny thing is that Tucson wasn’t his preferred site.
I can’t recall the name of the city/town that was originally involved, but Trump wanted to hold his rally there, and so the campaign filed the applications for the necessary permit. Only to have the city tell the campaign that they wanted a $140,000Â surety bond as a deposit, since Traitor Tot had previously skinned them for $80,000 for a rally and reneged on the payment.
This is going to be fascinating to watch. We’re in the last 54 days, and if Trump is even passingly serious about this election, then he’s going to have to spend the majority of his time in critical swing districts in critical swing states. And therein lies the McGuffin.
These critical swing districts by necessity must be places where Trump has done well in previous elections, and now he wants to rally out every possible vote he can scrape up to make it to the electoral college. After all, that’s reputedly his battle plan, since he knows he’s a dead dog in the national popular vote.
But since Trump is a creature of habit, it’s highly likely that he’s campaigned in these towns before in past elections. And of course, Trump being Trump, he’s also stiffed these cities and towns in the past. And no matter how popular Traitor Tot may be, these towns can’t afford to take a $70-80,000 bloodbath just for the privilege of hosting the Mango Moron. They’re gonna want to get paid.
And this could be a critical issue for the Trump campaign going into the last 54 days. Campaigns are creatures of habit too, and so it’s only natural that if they want to hold a rally somewhere, they’ll go back to the same place, where they’re familiar with the applications and city services to request. It expedites the process.
But if the Trump campaign has already stiffed these places, and they want payback, that presents the campaign with a problem. Because hitting up a new city is going to take precious time to go through the process for the first time. And the campaign doesn’t have time. And worse yet, even for a fly-in rally takes days of advance exploitation on digital and mass media to set up a crowd worth the time and trouble. And you can’t do that while you don’t have the permits, in case it all falls apart.
Which raises the ominous specter for the Trump campaign of putting in a rally permit to a place Trump has already burned, being presented with a surety bond deposit, and then scrambling around to find an alternate venue. And meanwhile the candidate sits around on the Mar-A-Slobo links while his opponents are out there rallying their asses off. And in an on the margins election, those lost days can be the difference between victory and defeat. The King of Debt my ass.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

all those dollars he grifted are gone? hmmmmmmm.
I have to say this is hilarious! Someone is not only calling him out on his tight-fistedness, but also getting their way! He can’t count on his so-called reputation anymore, as his reputation as far as paying his bills goes STINKS! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Time for “The King of Debt” to come into the office and pay the heavy taxes.
this may be why they chose the small venue in Tucson. security, cops etc has to be a lot cheaper. we’ll see if there’s more of the same. and no, all those grifted dollars aren’t gone, he just doesn’t want to spend his money on stuff like this.
Also: he can’t even fill the small venues, there’s even less point hiring a big one – then he has to hire the crowd to fill it.
He can’t afford that either.
When you’ve got no money, you can’t buy things unless people give you credit.
No-one’s giving him that anymore.
I just read a Business Insider story this morning that confirms this. Yep, Trump had to shell out $145,222.70 to be able to hold his Tuscon event. I’m sure he was furious. It’s not like he hasn’t taken in plenty of money. He just believes down to his DNA every dollar of it is HIS and for his wants and desires alone. It’s bad enough that he has to shell out all those millions (hell, tens of millions by now) in lawyer fees and legal expense but to have to actually shell out for campaign expenses like any other candidate has him begging Ronny Jackson for sedatives.
Here’s a link to the Business Insider article: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-had-to-front-145-000-to-secure-a-rally-space-in-arizona-amid-reports-he-left-an-unpaid-bill-at-the-same-venue-in-2016/ar-AA1qwfV3?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=9ac4836e631446cc825528745e5018f3&ei=114
Yeah Tucson wouldn’t be his preferred town because it is the most democratic leaning city in Arizona. I’m sure he would have preferred Prescott which leans more Republican.
To paraphrase a song: where did all the money go…long time passing? where did all the money go long time ago? They went into a secret bank account oh no…when will they ever learn? when will they ever learn?
Pete Seeger is looking up at you smiling.
And even if he chooses a town near one that he’s stiffed previously, you don’t think these mayors talk to each other?
