This is very sobering, as cold hard figures usually are. The film you’re about to see, by Don Winslow, focuses on Steve Bannon, who is going to trial in July. He was subpoenaed in September. That’s ten months. He was then indicted on November 12 for ignoring the subpoena.

In a perfect world, which emphatically this is not, Bannon might find himself convicted in July. That would be a wonderful thing.

But there’s a glaring problem that this film shines a light on and that is, what about the others? Is ten months going to be the normal time between subpoena and trial for the traitors that plotted to overturn the results of the 2020 election? Will an indictment automatically follow an ignored subpoena? Because the fact of what were looking at, is that the thugs that the January 6 Committee is attempting to bring to justice may simply be running out the clock.

The first coup was thwarted but it would be extremely naive to think that if there is no legal retribution against the people who did their damnedest to overthrow democracy on January 6, that they won’t try again. And the next time it’s doubtful that the guardrails of democracy will hold.

We don’t know what we’ll be looking at after the midterm elections. One or both chambers of Congress may be in Republican hands. In either case, forget about the January 6 Committee and its work.

The January 6 Committee and the Department of Justice need to step on the gas. America’s survival, nothing less, depends upon it.

  1. gee. thanks garland. thanks for nothing.

Garland might be as big a traitor as bilious Barr. Sure doesn’t look any different in the way he’s running his office.

  2. Justice is only quick if you are selling single pall malls.
    Then they kill you.
As for these punks, just consider that the doj is an organization staffed with incompetent, failed legal hacks with no clients.
    Like garland.
