I don’t have to get hit over the head with the hammer a second time to pay attention, like Traitor Tot. There is something going down under the radar in Texas, and the tea leaves I’m reading don’t auger well for Calgary Teddy.
It isn’t any one thing, but it’s a damning compilation when you string them together and look at them in the cold light of day;
- Trump’s own campaign chief put out a 3 am rage tweet about how Cruz was f*cking up his campaign, and how some pros had better get down there to bail him out
- The Cook Report moved the Texas race from Likely Republican to Lean Republican, one short step away from Toss Up
- Calgary Cruz appeared in prime time on FUX News, where he whined piteously about being on top of Schumer’s Hit List, and being outspent. He begged FUX viewers to pull their kids from college and send him their tuition
- Democratic challenger Colin Allred waxed Cruz at their only debate. The highlight was when Teddy dismissively laughed as Allred was describing his J6 experience. Allred turned to Cruz, stabbed out a finger, and barked Don’t laugh Senator, it isn’t funny! Your boss’s supporters tried to end democracy, and that’s no joke!
- Late the next day, the Allred campaign announced that they had raised more than $1 million in the 24 hours following the debate
All of that is indicative, but not necessarily conclusive. But here’s a couple of things that help to bind the cheese. For one thing, early voting in Texas is reportedly off to an unusually strong start. Since Texas is a safe red state, it’s doubtful that Trump voters are streaming to the polls. Also, Cruz is a known entity, and not a particularly popular one in Texas. I find it hard to believe that his pitiful whining on FUX News is bringing out a strong, early pity vote.
I like this one. In the last week since the debate, Colin Allred has made so many repeated appearances on so many MSNBC shows that he damn near qualifies as a regular. Networks don’t do that for a candidate up against the ropes, there are too many contenders out there that they can help. They’re giving Allred all the platform he needs to get his message out, and to fundraise off of.
This is the one that seals the deal for me. Right now, Kamala Harris is running around so many battleground states so often she needs a clone. Texas is not a battleground state, she has no chance there. Although getting Trump to a less than 5 point margin of victory would show the continuing purpling of Texas. And yet, in the next week, Harris is taking time out to travel to Texas to give a major speech on abortion and reproductive rights. Presumably with Colin Allred warming up the crowd and sharing the stage with Harris. And believe me, you don’t send The Boss to work a county fair.
One at a time, they’re nothing. But when you put them all together in a cohesive order, there is definitely frigging in the rigging, and it appears that it’s Cruz who’s hanging upside down with his ankle caught in the rope.
And here’s where the Democrats expanding the map could turn out to be critical. Harris is in good enough shape that she can take time from her own race to go to Texas and try to help flip a critical senate seat. Traitor Tot is so busy running all over sticking his finger in dams that he can’t spare a minute to try and bail out Lyin’ Ted. Don’t touch that dial.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

Hubby and I started giving money to Allred early on and we cast our votes for him on Monday. We have seen him this week on every MSNBC show and I am glad to know that can be considered a positive sign…I was a little worried. 😀
Houston we got a problem!
it’s going to be close for sure. Allred is within the margin of error. Also there are many thousands of new voters since the last election. Blue Bexar county (San Antonio) is setting records for early turnout.
greg abbotts purge of moderate republicans may lose several seats in the Texas house. Steve Allison (R) is endorsing the Democrat candidate in Texas 121. abbott has spent big time to prop up the maga candidate who looks to be going down.
There was a republicans for Harris sign up in front of my local voting station. moderate old school republicans are pissed off. they may be off cruz as well.
If the Republicans could make the Senate go red without Cruz, they’d be cheering to see him go down in flames. They have to work more closely with him.than Dems, and they despise him.
To know Red Ted is to loathe him. I am not actually sure the GOP wouldn’t be willing to.let the Dems keep.the Senate if it meant never having to see Cruz’s face again.
