First things first. Let’s see if the government shutdown — that’s the unified Republican government shutdown we’re speaking of, there is no other — breaks a record. If that happens, it will happen within the next week, after Day 34. Let’s see if the military gets paid, let’s see what happens to SNAP payments, let’s see some very grassroots things take place or not take place.
I predict a major GOP capitulation because they know they cannot allow health insurance premiums to go up 400% and blame it on the Democrats. That’s the gamble that they’re setting up right now, but it’s not going to be doable to blame Biden or the Democrats for that. But know that as the midnight oil burns on Capitol Hill, there is no other discussion.
