Another clip to laugh at, but here’s what is not funny: Never before in history have we had tens of thousands of people, maybe hundreds of thousands, believing that dead people were alive and living people were dead. That’s pretty basic, who is on what side of the grass. And in MAGA world, even the most basic thing is contested.
Michael Jackson is still on this side of the grass and so is JFK, Jr., according to the lore of MAGA. And so is Osama bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri. You thought that Obama got rid of one and Biden got rid of the other, but you weren’t asking MAGA. They know differently.
Bin Laden was a CIA guy named Tim something. As usual, you can’t make it up. Clip runs about seven minutes, worth the time to see the true idiots in this culture. And they’re over 18 and can vote.
Make no mistake about the cults which exist in this country, and yes, they are plural. For example, I used to know a woman I called the evangelical wingnut. She was in the Cult of Prosperity Consciousness and Fake GeeSuss. That’s my name for it, she identified as a Born Again Christian. She literally filtered every single thing that happened through that cult’s sensibilities.
For example, one day I happened to mention a movie I saw. It was biblical, so i thought she might have seen it, Exodus: Gods and Kings, starring Christian Bale. I said i had enjoyed it. She then when on to share with me that Bale was a born again Christian. I said, “Is that right?” and listened to her discourse upon how he had gone through the same process she had of becoming born again.
Many months later Bale won the Golden Globe for “channeling Satan” as he put it, in order to play the role of Dick Cheney in Vice. I thought that was a remarkable comment for an actor who was a born against Xian to make, that he channeled Satan to play a role and he thanked Satan in his acceptance speech.
Long story short, when I researched it, I could find nothing of Christian Bale publicly identifying as a born again Christian. It was a made up story, because the evangelical wingnut has the world divided up into her brand of Christianity and Others, and if you’re in the group “Others” you have no legitimacy. It doesn’t matter if you have talent, skills, whatever, you’re not real because you’re not a part of the cult. She literally could not have a conversation with me about a movie or an actor in the movie without reframing the film as a religious statement, done on behalf of her cult. And this was not, from all I can find. Therefore, it had no legitimacy. It could only gain legitimacy if it was translated by her into a format of understanding that the cult had told her was valid.
The MAGAs appear to be the same way. The price of admission to the cult is to see Donald Trump as some fantasy creature that is is not and never was, and to believe all the side conspiracies about dead celebrities and Italian satellites taking over voting machines from space. If you can’t talk that talk, they don’t want to hear from you. And they still retain the power to vote, which is the horrifying thing.
The midterms are coming up soon. Let’s see where we are culturally after the dust settles. The tragedy of this is that these people are being groomed to vote against their own interests and you cannot convince them of that. They could take us into living under fascism, although I personally don’t believe there are that many of them. That said, the awful statistic still rings in my brain: 74 million people voted for Donald Trump.
Holy crap! He kept nailing them with their hypocrisy and they were too dumb to notice. Are there really that many stupid people in this country? This is really scary.

I think you know the answer to that question. You saw in 2020 there were 74 M of them. There may or may not be that many today but I guarantee you one thing, if the number went down it wasn’t by all that much-if it were 1 M I’d be surprised.
This was never a nation of intellectuals. It is even less so in 2022.
My I.Q. test for anyone claiming to be a republican is this: “if President Obama had all these boxes in his residence, would you feel executing a warrant to search the premises was justified?” It’s also a good as a hypocrisy gauge. If you’re curious, 9.5 out of 10 ‘pubes feel that President Obama most certainly should have his residence searched (and in fact they think he should be imprisoned immediately) and the hypocrisy gauge, which tops out at 10, more often than not came in at 11. The questions I have posited to ‘pubes vary with the latest damn fool thing former guy did so it changes almost weekly.
