A lot of things are going on with the clip you’re about to see. First, I find it hard to believe that any adult woman, whether she had any dealings with radical feminists or otherwise, would not have the common sense to realize that if a complete stranger, a male, is offering you a plane ticket across the country, maybe he expects something in return.
And for that matter, if the person offering the plane ticket was a female, maybe she expects something in return. Maybe not sex, or may be, but it’s always wise to get the lay of the land in these situations. Generally speaking, if people give something they want to get something. If it’s a strange male offering a substantial gift to a young woman, I think you can assume that some kind of gender dynamics are in play. That’s not a man hating comment, that’s reality.
In all events, hear a member of the Party Of Personal Responsibility describe a moment of poor judgement on her part, which she can’t acknowledge as her own shortcomings, but has to blame on radical feminists demonizing men and brainwashing her.

This is my take on this nutty clip: it’s pure culture war drivel. This is not a political issue. Kids are taught from very young not to talk to strangers, accept rides from strangers, etc., because there are creeps in the world. It’s a shame. What I wouldn’t give for a kind of communal upbringing of children, where there was no victimization and the kids could trust their community in ways which in this day and age are simply not practical.
To make this about radical feminists, “they taught me to hate all men and then I found one that was a predator, OMG they might be right” is nuts. Totally nuts.
Maybe she’ll enjoy the New World Order that her white supremacist evangelical buddies propose, where women can’t go to school, work, vote or do anything except procreate. Nobody will be “asking” her or “offering” anything in that day and age. She’ll probably be rented out by her husband to whomever wants her in California for the weekend.
I wonder who she’ll blame then? It won’t be the yous and mes asking for equal pay for equal work or other outlandish ideas.
It has become quite clear that the right-wingers (SCOTUS and elsewhere) want to take this country to somewhere it has never been and that most of us would never want to go. Not only do they want to take us back to a time where women had basically no rights whatsoever, but much farther back to the Dark Ages, where everyone but wealthy men were basically slaves to the few wealthy men.
This is so wrong on so many levels that if I had years, I could not come close to telling all of the reasons that what they want is so wrong and just how wrong it is! Since the republican party has become one with the RWNJs and Q-Nuts, it is absolutely necessary that we VOTE OUT EVERY ONE OF THEM AT EVERY LEVEL! NOW!!
Unfortunately, we’ve had more than 40 years of the “everyone but wealthy men” voting against their own interests because the Republican Party has made sure to promise them all sorts of things. “Vote for us so we can enact massive tax cuts; they may not do anything for you now, but what about when YOU’RE rich?” “Look at those lazy welfare scum; stop wasting your hard-earned dollars to support their non-working asses.” “Why should union workers get more money than you do? Help us break the unions so all workers are equal.”
And those 40 years have gone hand in hand with being in bed with the far-right religious nuts who want to impose their brand of Biblical law on everyone (but hypocritically denouncing “Shariah law in the US” and Muslim countries that treat women as less-than-people).
Why would you accept an offer from a complete stranger without first finding out what they wanted in return? She sounds really dim.
Why do they always resort to “radical” to describe anything remotely liberal? They are the true radicals. Also, I find this story remarkably stupid. Most feminists don’t hate men, they want their rights, to be treated equitably. In addition, who raised her? Didn’t they ever have the “talk”? At nineteen, I knew better than to accept a plane ticket from a stranger.
When you are lacking in anything approaching good sense, you will blame anybody and everybody for the misfortunes you suffer because of your stupidity. This is one of the laws of humanity that should be right up there with if you put your hand in a fire you’re likely to get burnt and if you jump off a tall building you will either get very badly injured or very badly dead. I remember having dinner with a guy back in the late 70’s. I identified as a feminist and he asked me, “How much do you hate men?” I said, “I don’t hate men. I love men. I just want women to be treated as if they were fully as valuable as men because in deed we are.” Deaf ears.
Allow me to state that at 29I was pretty enough that I was twice approached by scouts for modeling agencies X-Men it ones, so not Trump’s. I state this because the normal.crap.you get from wing nuts is “Feminists,are ugly.” I turned them down because I am short and built more like Monroe than Moss, which meant I’d be doing catalog and men’s mag nude photos, and I would never get a legit job again.
With that out of the way,,I was,always the shortest, you best , and smartest kid in.my class. I went to girl’s schools from grades 7-12. IMy prom date was a fix cup. I had 4dates in 4years. College wasn’t n much bettet. Ced, but same issues,,smartest blue in the class, made worse by professors calling me out for writing the best papers and getting the highest grades in classes. Another time when I had maybe 6dates. I was not popular. I turned down free rides from two Ivies,and accepted a third from Syracuse University, tops in my field.
Despite my lack of experience,,I was,wise enough to realize that when the professor grading my screenplay wanted to.meet in the bar, he was interested in something other than my snappy dialogue and tight plot. I said no. And got a,B instead of an A This woman wasn’t just naive,,she was,stupid.
As a woman born in te 1940’s, I can testify thatit was well k=knwn in the fifties and sixties to all women, including those who had zero intention of rocking the boat, that if one accepted a large gift, there qoulf be a request (or mor for a return on that investment.
