Hi. Remember me from last week? I’m Bubbles, the gorgeous orange princess. When I left off last week, I was still traveling across this beautiful country with Ginnycat and her dad. Today, I’ll tell you of some more adventures we had on that long ride. Each night, I got to tear around and explore a new motel room.
One evening, Ginnycat and her dad left me to myself while they went to dinner. They had put some food in my little bowl, so I scarfed up some noms, too.
I peered out the window, which they had left open just a crack, and sniffed the sweet evening air.
I noticed the little table beside the bed, so I jumped up there. It was fun moving things around and knocking them onto the floor. I have a special talent for this, and it was great having a chance to do it without anyone stopping me.
Then, I checked out the bathroom to see if the sink would be a smooth, comfy place to nap.
I liked the way the cool bathtub felt on my paws, and decided to keep it in mind as a good place to go later, while everyone was sleeping. Maybe I would get lucky and find a mouse in there and chase it around. Now THAT would be a real treat. I hadn’t been able to find any critters in a motel room yet.
I was delighted to see the big white water bowl, and wandered over to take a long, refreshing drink.
In my wanderings around the bedroom, I found a really nifty hiding place. Having worn myself out with all my investigating, I crawled in there and took a nice bath.
It felt so good after that to curl up and take a nap.
Just as I was getting really comfortable and relaxed, I heard the humans coming back. Then, before long, I heard Ginnycat on the phone with her mom. She was crying. “Bubbles is gone! We went to dinner, and when we came back to the room, we couldn’t find her anywhere.”
I kind of giggled to myself. I was so clever. I wondered how long it would take them to find me.
Quite a flap ensued, with the motel people coming and moving things around, searching the room and making a great deal of noise. Then I heard, “Here she is! She discovered a hole in the bottom of the box spring and has climbed up in there.” The motel people cut a slit in the box spring to rescue me. I didn’t understand why everyone was so upset. I was feeling kind of cozy, but I finally let them get me out.
By then, the humans had made quite a mess. I plotted my adventures for the night, checking out the newly arranged room, but they put everything back in order, and pretty soon, all the extra people left.
Soon the room was dark, and even I went to sleep.
The next morning, we were back in that old green SUV, headed for the Golden State.
The kitties told me I could add a little cartoon here that I published earlier this week. Hope it gives you a chuckle.
Have a good week!
That is a totally darling piece, Mina. Fank yew, fank yew!!
Thanks. (Smile)
I LOVE Bubbles’ adventures! Hiding in the box spring was so clever too though I do feel for your hoomins who were so worried about where you were! Looking forward to next week’s Wacky Wednesday to find out what happens next!
Thanks, Michelle. (More smiles.)
